Looking at my headlight wires to install some wig wags and I don't know what wires are for high beams, what wires are for low beams, and what wire controls high beam and low beam switching. Before I do a total hack job on my car, I would like to know if anyone can tell me which wires go to what or how the hell can I decipher which wire goes where.

There are 3 solid black wires, 1 black and green wire, and 1 blue and white wire... which wire goes where? or how can I test to see which wire goes where?

Thank you in advance!

Buy the T-Harness from www.galls.com (http://www.galls.com) it is plug and play and negates all the connections that WILL corrode and fall apart. I must tell you - wigwag headlamps add about 20' of extra wire and will make the hi-beam headlamps slow to react for flass-to-pass and makes them noticably dimmer.

If you have a test light you should be able to figure out which wire is which.

Dark Blue/White - Positive Lowbeam
Green/Black - Positive Highbeam

There are 3 other wires which I don't know what they are to.

The wigwags I am installing are by whelen and a guy I just talked to (not at whelen) says that they might mess up the computer cutting in to the wires... anybody know anything about this? should I join CVN?

You won't mess up your computer at all with the flasher.

I would however recommend heatshrink and solder or heatshrink butt connectors to do the job.

I have installed literally hundreds of headlight flashers(CV's, not MM), the only real issue lies when you are working with a car with negative switched headlights and/or daytime running lamps.

I am good with electronics and have installed many electronic accessories in cars so I was planning on soldering and heat shrinking... I am glad that it won't mess the comp up... soooooo you are saying we are positive switched headlights?

Yes, I tested them with a Ground test light. With the test light on I turned my lowbeams on and Dark Blue/White wire lit up which is should as it completed the test light circuit to light up the bulb. Of course there is also a ground to the lowbeam and highbeam, which wire to which is a good question. I'm sure there is a wiring diagram floating around somewhere.

Its what the police/fire/ems use on the headlights to get them to flash back and forth. For emergency use really.

What he said... "headlight flashers" if you will... my kit has 4 different flash patterns

Why do you need anything more than a dash light? Seems pretty poser-like to me.
