Not that I know of, but I haven't bought stock rear tires in years.

Tire Rack price is $152 ea.

there are these Nexen Rodian HP. 460 treadwear. $92.40 each with $16.52 shipping. and the prices go up from there. for 255/55/18's they have 75 different tires. try looking up other tire sizes at tires-easy.com

I had snatched up about 4 dozen 255/55R18 BFG KDW2 from my wholesaler before they were 'shipped to the obsolete warehouse' about a year ago and was selling them here.

I do carry the KDWS in 245/55R18 but tirerack sells them for less than what we can.

You are right there are different tires in that size, however I'd be careful with some of the cheaper tires. There have been reports by some, specifically with Falken tires, of soft sidewalls causing poor handling.

Because we have big cars I'd be careful with some tires, not saying they wouldn't work or be a good deal but without a history of them being run on a Marauder you're going into unventured territory.

That's not necessarily a reason not to buy, but buyer beware and understand it could be risky, and definitely examine how the car reacts if you put on a different set of tires, if handling is compromised safety may be compromised as well.

You might want to search here for an excellent writeup on tires that Breadfan did a year or two ago. There is a lot more to selection for the MM than just compatible tire size.

I'm extremely happy with the Hankooks I put on the rear.

I hear ya:D I don't drive the rauder real hard and I only have 22K miles on the clock so far, but I do want to buy tires that are going to perform as opposed to lose traction in wet weather or if they make excessive road noise.

a friend of mine also pointed out to me that even the high treadwear rating on inexpensive tires may indicate just hard compounds in the tread, but not necessarily sidewall strength.
I don't need rears just yet, but if I keep the rauder for a little longer, I might try the midpriced tires. FWIW, costco has the oem BFG rears for $164 plus tax; they'll get them to the nearest warehouse and mount /balance/lifetime protection for $10 per tire.

Nitto 420s 255/55's is what i have in the rear with stock fronts, great combo, rears wear like iron , no handling issues, had them for 10k now on my daily driver and will buy again if and when these wear out
