O.K., where does everyone get their FG-800 A Motorcraft Fuel Filter from?
The local dealerships want $18 for them. I checked several local FLAPS and no one carries said brand.
Am I stuck with mail ordering them?

Is that the bigger one that was a mod or the OEM Marauder one??
If it's the big one I use a Fram 3802A ($10.00 at Wally-World)......Fram fuel filters are fine.....the oil filters aren't!!:mad2:

Cut one open and answer the question yourself......ain't much there....DUDE!!!:shake:
Is there a difference in using a larger fuel filter? I plan on changing mine soon, what would be my best option?

More surface area which should give more flow and better filtration over a longer period of time but I wonder if it is really any better than stock??
I did the conversion and mounted the holder.....works great but can't tell any difference from stock!!:shake:
It is basically a "feel good" mod......I think??

Thanks for the info marauderjack . So is this motorcraft FG-800 the stocker or a larger filter from ford?

The FG 800A is for 'other' applications. It is larger than the OEM. I guess it is also supposed to hold more fuel in reserve for those romps????
Anyway, I picked one up at Advanced, had three in stock. Funny, when I called they said they do not carry Motorcraft fuel filters. $14 was more than I thought it should be.....
I will try to pick one up this weekend. I have almost 30k miles on the clock and am now trilogy super charged. Does this one go right in or is modification needed?

Small mod, just search this site and you'll find the instructions. Not hard, just need to secure it appropriately.

Rock Auto Lists Fg986b For The Marauder $10.32.
Fg800a Fits My 1999 Sable, Also $10.32
FG872 IS LARGER. IT FITS A 2004 F350 SUPERDUTY W/ 5.7L
I'm happy with the Wix filter, its stock size but after having a new "no name" on it a few days before it, it kinda felt a little smoother, and hell it might only matter if you're SCed . . .

Bend the old bracket slightly and use a large screw clamp to secure the filter to the bracket.

Where can you get extra pieces of the plastic clips?
So is it a good idea to go with a larger fuel filter on a super changed car???

Cannot hurt....that was my thinking as fuel delivery is critical at WOT and 10 PSI??
Not sure it is necessary but it is easy to do and cheap insurance...so to speak!!
DR uses straight fittings and a small filter....He may be able to shed some light on the FG-800 vs Stock??

On two of the family cars I maintain, I had FRAM fuel filters turn to chunks of heavy flaky rust; one even perforated and had begun to leak. Both filters were less than 2 years old and had less than 12,000 miles on them. In comparison, the Motorcraft filter from my MM looked almost new when replaced after 2 years and 25,000 miles.
I will never use FRAM fuel filters again.

whats wrong with fram oil filters dude? There's nothing especially heinous about FRAM oil filters, other than the fact that they are a mediocre filter sold at a quality filter price. IOW, there are better filters out there for the same money, so why use an inferior filter, especially when the highly-regarded Motorcraft FL820S can be had from Wally's for less money than the equivalent FRAM?
Thank you for all the info fellas. I will see if the larger fuel filter makes a difference with my trilogy setup and report back.

Found something to do when I am on vacation next week lol.
Bend the old bracket slightly and use a large screw clamp to secure the filter to the bracket.
Is there anything else that is needed?
If youre on vacation next week maybe we can meet up and do both cars together and then record some tire roasting :burn:
I have a couple filter options listed here (https://www.mymarauder.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fuel_Filter). Let me know if there are any others you have had successes with and would like added. Personally, I use Wix.
I did the filter change with my oil change a few days ago. I must say that i do notice a difference, when i mash the gas pedal the car is alot more responsive. Now i dont know if its because of a LARGER filter or just that the filter is NEW! Either way the filter was only $17 bucks and the dealership installed it for free. Im happy with the results.

did you look underneath and make sure they put the bigger one on. or better yet even changed it? I got charged sometime ago for a fuel filter from the dealership and they even resprayed the new one back down with underbody coating if ya get my drift, Seneca
