Except our paychecks (unless you're lucky!)

I actually love the idea if a fuel surcharge on speeding tickets. I am past my lead foot days, so I find it hilarious.

I think it's a great idea, so speeders ( who get caught), end up putting some revenue back to the city, w/o everyone having to pay higher property taxes or sales taxes. "If you don't break the law, you don't pay a surcharge " (misquoted on purpose from the Holly Springs Mayor)

Here in Ontario, we pay a victim's fund surcharge, were the money goes to the innocent victims, injured in motor vehicle collisions. I guess I can live with that... This type of "surcharge" is not cool, in my book! I'd be :mad2:

As a note, Toronto has approved an increase for taxi charges, as a result of the increased cost of fuel. Not that I normally take a taxi, but the increase is steep. Now, $4.00, from the point you get in and distance rates will go up 15% - A 10-mile ride will now cost $34, assuming the meter isn't running while stuck in a traffic jam. Ouch!

"And don't blame the poor cab driver for this, I mean we're all cursing the outcome. You know Esso made $52 billion in profits last year and the cab driver shouldn't bear the brunt of the blame."

The insatiable greed of government never ceases to find new ways to take our money.

When is the "Tea Party"?
