Hi Guys! I know you've covered this a couple of times but I am having trouble with the wipers on my '04 Marauder again. Since the beginning of February I have replaced the multi function switch twice, the wiper motor once (with a new motor, not rebuilt one) and after driving in the rain once they stopped working correctly again. I cleaned out the drain hole when I replaced motor and I have checked the wiper relay switch and it is ok. The wipers will work on low and high but have no pulse function. The wipers turn on every time I start the car and today came on when I turned the car off. Of course my local Mercury dealer has never heard of such a problem and frankly I'm sick of it:mad2:. I haven't had any problems with my lights so I don't think it's assoctiated with the LCM. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The problem you are having now is the same exact problem I am having. Mine wouldn't shut off at all. Bought a aftermarket wiper motor and then it they are where both of our problems are now. I replaced the MF switch - no change in anything so my next try to is replace the motor with a new/reman Ford motor unit. If that doesn't work next step will be the wiper motor harness and if that fails then last straw is the LCM.

I had the MF (that can be used more than one way) switch problem once, and replaced the switch and it worked for a while. Later, the wipers quit working again. It was diagnosed at the dealer's as the wiper motor. I replaced the motor myself and still no wipers. I took it back to the dealer and they said again it's the motor. I said, no its not. They said yes it is and replaced the motor. Still no wipers. They put my old motor back in and started digging.
Turned out the harness as it ran through the fenderwell was damaged and was causing the problem. They repaired the harness and all has been well since.

If your dealer hasn't heard of the problem, he ain't looking very hard ... there is a 4-year old TSB on the problem.
Here's what I said back in December 2006 "Wiper motor and wiring was replaced "gratis" under a redo of TSB 05-04-09/warranty terms since the last fix 6 months ago was not applied properly.
Parts listed:
6W7Z-17508-AC Motor A 137493
3W7Z-17A477-AA Wiring 812722"
I am now on wiper motor number 4 and am going for the "record". ;)

Charlie or Chris, have you saved any of the old motors? I'd be curious to look them over. No fear if you haven't, I may be pulling my own very soon, just need time to dig into it!
