Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+F1+GS-D3&partnum=555YR8F1GSD3XL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=0) weigh 31 pounds each.

General Grabber UHP (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Grabber+UHP&partnum=555WR8GRUHPXL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=26) weigh 35 punds each.

The difference in weight means that to ship them, even though the General tires are cheaper than the Goodyear tires, they cost more to ship and that amount is $0.13 more than the GST (taxes) and Duty for the pair than the Goodyear tires.

Making the Goodyear tires ~$84.00 each more expensive.

The actual price difference.

$200 - $116 = $84

So I'm only buying rears and using them with my Stock fronts, until I wear the fronts out and replace them, next year with either more stock fronts or if I go the Goodyear route with F1 GS D3's.

So knowing this which should I get:

The Goodyear F1 GS D3's

or

The General Grabber UHP's

Rears only.

or

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+T%2FA+KDWS&partnum=455WR8GFTAKDWS&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=0)

Marauder stocks for the rear.

Only $16 each more than the General tires. Shipped.

The GSD3's are great tires. I'd say get those and do the fronts as soon as you can :)

I voted for the Generals.
I don't particularly like the stock BFG's and I've never really had good luck with Goodyears. I had a set of self-sealing Generals on my truck and they were great! Wore 'em out and they never lost air or rode badly. I say give'em a shot.

If i was doing front and back I would get the Goodyears.

I'm only doing the rears and wondering if the Goodyear and the General would be problematic doing only the rears.

Also for my full sized spare the Winter tires I have (rears) are closer in size to the BFG's. Thus I wouldn't need to get a 3rd full sized rear tire as a spare and a wheel. Don't want a screwed up LSD etc...

BFG's also have no duty.

Mixing tires is never the best way unless your getting similar tread patterns and wear ratings. Save your money and get all four when you can?

Well I just ordered two BFG's.

Good price, a little more than the Generals, but not much.

Fronts ordered today. Time to replace them too.

Seems I've been spending all my Marauder money on tires.

My current tires are great up to 50 mph but past that they seem to wobble all over the road. I'm hoping the new ones will finally solve this problem, can anyone think of anything else that it might be?

I got the generals and I hate them. Compared to the 255/55 kdw2's I had they suck.

Interesting! I'm happy with the Generals on the Bluesmobile so far. What type of problems are you having with them?

The sidewalls have way more give and they have less dry and wet traction than the 30k mile worn kdw2's I took off. I drive my car hard and I expect a lot out of my tires and these just don't deliver.

Thanks for the info on the General tires. I had assumed performance would be as you described based on various comments/reviews and on the fact that they have a rather high treadwear. They're ranked high on TireRack, but they're only compared to other SUV tires.
