Hello,

The air bag light came on the Marauder yesterday. When I hooked up the snap on at my friend's shop I got this code:

B1892 Air Bag warning tone circuit failure.

Thoughts? Never seen this before...

Thanks,
Eric

Most likely the clock spring.
Air Bags and components are covered for 5 full years after the in-service date.

So I can take it to the dealer and get it fixed for free?

5/50 coverage for air bag light concerns.

So the dealer says if it is the clock spring that they will not cover it. They said that the warranty covers a failed air bag unit and not the wiring or electrical. I call bullshyte on that.

They tired to charge me 500 dollars to fix it - saying the entire driver side dash and everything underneath has to come down to fix it/troubleshoot it. He says he is not sure its the clock wire and the code has a flow chart he has to follow - the follow chart takes 3 to 5 hours hence the 500 in labor plus whatever the problem is.

Anyone know if I can shut the seatbelt light warning sound up - if I can I will live with the airbag light on. I never the drive the thing anyway. Better yet is there a way to shut that light off as well...I hate lights on my dash!

that must be one hellova flow chart 3-5 hrs *********.

i guess i'll find out what my dealer says since my light just came on today.

hopefully it is the beginning of a self destruct sequence

The attachment way at the bottom of post shows the code and which pinpoint test to use which I copied below. This is pretty much useless without the right test equipment, and is still not an easy task.
Your best bet is first to check for TSB's you might get lucky. If no one here can get them you can buy a "subscription" from:
