Yea you guessed it, while out of town for a week the wife was at home and drove the Marauder, said it jumped out before she could touch the brakes.....Worst part I didn't even get to see the car, I didn't want her to wait for a week so I told her to bring it in. Good thing I trust my body shop, best one there is in my opinion, garuntees his work to look like new for as long as you own you vehicle! Anyways good news is he's going to install a badgeless grill as there is no price diffrence! He says will look better than it did new..... We'll see....

Ooohh that's frustrating. The new paint will be better than factory if it is a good body shop.

Well I just got off the phone with him, I couldn't figure out how he was going to "order" a badgeless grill being Zack is the only one I thought made them...sure enough he called and said in his books what they call a "badgeless grill" is the one I had before, what the books consider "badgeless" is not having the emblem on top sticking out like Lincolns do....so I guess its back to the stocker as he said he'd order an after market if I found one but I don't think they will go through the hassle of having Zack do one......

Very lucky that it didn't pop up on the hood and go for the windshield. At least it can be repaired and everyone is ok.

See if you can get the old grill for a donor grill for Zach. It looks like it might have enough teeth left.

I don't know, do you get the deer in Minn.? You can have em' here in Ohio. At least that kind of makes up for it, tastes good, puts a smile on your face every time you take a bite, and saves on groceries.

*chews on a cigar*
Yep, a push bumper could saved it . . .

:o

But yeah, good to hear the wife is safe, and you came out pretty lucky as far as body damage goes. You should see what some other deer hits have done to the MM, and also what a cow can do. :(

that's the breaks when you try to push a deer out of the road. I hit a deer on us-1 north in GA with a loaded tanker truck and I WON!!.

really though. sorry about the luck. it'll fix up nice. you'll see.

LOL......

Jeremy you think there are enough for him to do it? Anyone have a contact # for Zack? I'm sure my body guy will raise an eyebrow when I explain to him what I want to do but who cares, he gets paid because of me....

And yes the wife was just fine, would have been the FIRST thing out of my mouth if she wasn't, actually she was laughing about it to the Officer...I can just hear the conversation now.........."Ha ha ha, yea good thing it was my husbands vehicle hahahahah".........GGrrrrrr

Deer whistles, the original ones, not the cheap copies, work. I have had deer stop along with horse etc... look up at me and as I get close start moving away. I wish I took them off my Firebird before I traded it in. I need them on my Marauder, I hope i can find the original company ones again, not the cheap non working copies.

He said they were painting as we spoke and tomorrow morning will be putting it together.....he basicly said if I want to do the grill threw Zack like I explained, I'll have to do it once I get it back, as they have the new one and all, which I can understand....and he siad he does still have the old broke one...WOOHOOO

Wow, that is quick! Last winter it took 4 weeks for one of the local guys to get his Marauder fixed (it was a bit bigger of a hit I think).

Get the old grill and PM Zack to get a badgeless.

Can you bring it down for Car Craft 25-27 July?

Take a very close look at the paint when you get it back. Look for sanding scratches under the paint. Where most collision repaints suffer, is prep, and you end up w/ it being sprayed fine and being glossy, but seeing hand or machine sanding scratches up close. I am making a body shop do a re-do on some minor work I just had done a week ago because the touch up and reclear job looks great until you look really close at an angle

Well she's BACKKK! Looks awesome.....Before I took the car I noticed the gaps between the hood and fenders were not exact...hour later and just like original....he said they replaced both fenders, hood, air conditioning condenser, front fiberglass brace, front bumper, grill and both headlamps, did an alignment and a full detail job....I'm very happy with it....

They matched the paint perfectly, plus gave me two bottles of touch up paint for it. I've gone over this car all day with a fine tooth comb and I can't find a flaw... One thing I noticed though is at about 50mph+ the hood seems to shake, I don't hear any noise but you can see it kinda bounce around, guessing its just the rubber stops that need to be adjusted, any thoughts?

Anyhow opened it up a little on the road and its alllll goooood, now I need to start saving up for a tune....
