Has anyone installed the oil pressure sender and hooked up to one of the Analog inputs with the Aeroforce gauges? If so, can you give a little write up on how you did that? I am looking for the following:

1) Where does the sender install at (pictures would be great)?
2) Do you have to drain the oil to install?
3) What did you use for wires to run from the short connector that comes with the sender up to the short connector that comes with the gauges?
4) Any other hints or tricks?

Any and all input welcome along with pictures!

Thanks.

Eric, if you are not keeping the stock oil pressure gauge, then simply replace that switch with the Aeroforce sender in the same location. It's on the front of the oil filter adapter. If you want to keep both, there's a small bung in the adapter where you can cobble up some pipe fittings to add the second sender. Either way, be sure to use Teflon tape on the threads.

No, you don't need to drain the oil, but a small amount will run out when you remove the old switch (or the bung), so have a small catch-can ready.

Both factory gauges are gone as I got the dual AeroForce setup.

So, I replace the factory sending unit with the new one. Can I splice the connector that comes with that in to the factory wiring and then do the same on the other end, too, using the supplied analog connector and connect to the AeroForce gauge then?

I think yes. I don't have the aeroforce gauge, but when I put in a working oil pressure gauge I just cut off the stock connector at the sender end of the wire, and crimped on a ring connector that fit over the sender's connector. In the cockpit, I cut off the stock connector and used butt splice connectors between the stock wires and the new gauge's wires.

I put in a reducing 90 from the bottom bung RF speaks of to the AF sender. Ran a wire in loom and tied to factory harnesses through the same firewall pass as my stereo power wire.

Tap the TPS wire for power and reuse the single OEM wire for transmission of signal back to the gauge.

Forgot about that part. I did that, too. Wonder where Zack got THAT idea from!!!
