I am a proud owner of a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis:cool4:... and always thought of making:beatnik: my 1992 a performance machine... but this was before I met my first marauder. I was driving to work and from the corning of my eye I see this black "Grand Marquis (initially)" turn hard onto my street right in front of me... he revs it up and takes of like a bat out of hell and all I remember seeing was marauder engraved on the bumper, all black, and 2 stainless stell exhaust tips saying goodbye as I tried to catch to it... wow, it sounded amazing... since then my next goal in life it get a marauder... but for now I've got my MGM. Last night I found a marauder at a local dealer, a real beauty just like the one I saw the first time. It was about 8:00 and the dealer was closed for the day, my dad and I walked up to the lot and checked it out... wow, I must say that it is quite the machine... it only has 45,000 miles and being sold at 14,995... I want it soooo bad but I just don't have the finances being a 17 year old:help:... and just starting my internship at a hospital... just thought I'd let you all know that if you have one... your are one lucky fella :bows:.
PS: I've just recently decided not to invest any more money in anything... including my body work plans for my 1992 till I get my marauder

And there are plenty for sale right here in the classifieds. I'd trust these sellers waayyyy before I'd go to a stealership. I'd say go for a blue rauder....first. good luck, youngster. I didn't buy mine until I was in my 30's

Why would you not expect more out of a Marauder?

well my brother had a MM and i had the HPP package on my Vic. i drove it once down the street and thought that it pretty much felt like it just had better seats and interior, not to mention looks...
so when i bought mine i wasn't really expecting the car to be a montster.... i had driven my brothers before and figured it was faster than the CV but not much because i couldnt feel it that much..... until i opened mine up. Highways baffled me compared to the CV adn just having the car downshift adn pull like a SOB was enough. i am still amazed sometimes with what the car can do. guess i didnt really understand what iu was getting but i can say i could not be happier now that i have one.
hmmm hopefully my 04 Mach1 motor will do better than my stock one;)

Maybe you and your Dad can work out a deal on the car. You know he wants one too now that he has seen it. Suggest that you take him for a test drive -- him -- then you. :D Maybe you can share expenses. :D
The one you saw sounds like a good deal if it is clean and well cared for.

I bought mine from a dealership 3000 miles away, and had never even driven a Marauder before all my Crown Vics gave way to this purchase. Save your pennies, it's worth it!

Welcome aboard and enjoy the site.
I had 2 1992 GM LS with the Handling and Performance Package. My 1st GM had the CVPI PCM that got rid of the speed limiter. I was able to stay behind a mildly chipped MM that was a demo for a LM dealer (up to 135MPH). After that, I started losing a quart of oil every 600 miles. Then I found the other GM LS HPP, transferred the CVPI PCM, but wrecked it after Frances. I fixed about 75% on the damage and it ran fine but it would not be the same. So, then I bought a pair of 1995 CVPIs. I had those for a little while then got my deal on a MM and sold the rest.
Try to get one if you can.

He definitely was suprised when he looked at it... usually he looks at a car says its nice and then on our drive home talks about how bad it actually is... after first taking our first looks my dad turns to me and says, "this is a nice car... nothing i can say about it.:banana2:" We might be able to get a test drive in today... but I've got work till 5, hopefully the dealers open till about 6...

Thanks... will look into it... my dad highly prefers the classifieds anyways because most are well taken cared of... God I want a MM so bad... I wish I could get one right now.. so I have the whole summer to enjoy it... especially since a kid I know owns a mustang (V6 btw) and thing he's the s**t:mad2:... not that I want to blow his socks off... but it would just be a good feeling pulling up into a driveway next to his car and give it a rev or two... that would just make my day... :D

I wanted one from the day I saw it at the new car show in 2004. I was just in awe.
Then I totally forgot about it when I went to back to school and tore through some imports and then saw it for sale at a small used car dealer. And was like why not?
Its the best and worst purchase of my life at the sametime - best when I hear it start up and the worst at the pump or when I pay my bills...
But then I just go start it up again...

If grades helped I would have a marauder already... :(, it truly is the finances right now... on the bright side, we're seeing about a house that we're going to sell for quick profit, and then we going to finish of paying our E-150 this winter so there is light at the end of the tunnel in the spring! :burnout:

Good luck finding yours ejt, I know I wanted one since the chicago auto show in 02. Two years later I convinced my dad to buy one. Barely even driven, two years after that I find myself buying it off of him with it having only 7k miles. It truly is my dream car, and I love every bit of it.

Wtf, it seems like a lot of old threads are popping up lately, some of which serve no purpose. Btw, did you see a few months back they were giving away a new marauder? ;)

The relationship between most MM owners and their MM is "When you turn the key on in your Marauder, The Marauder turns you on"

Hello,
I know most Jalops know the Panther platform.I know most know what the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis is.But this Jalop knows what it is like to sit behind a modern day landyacht and see the long hood but hear the yeti roar that is the song of the Marauder.
