Well it was a good and bad night. First ticket with the trilogy! Heading to the local car show I had my mm with my dad from out of town and my best friend, my sister, and my wife in my buddies 07 mustang GT. Typical story light turns green I pull on him out of the hole while leaving atleast 30 feet of rubber and took it up to 59 according to the ticket.:( He could have wrote us many tickets with the worst being drag racing but we were honest about our actions (not at first) so he cooled down and explaned that there would be a speeding ticket written to both of us for 59 in a 35. Sucks, its been 7 yrs for me and 15 yrs for my buddy since our last tickets but we got off real lucky and will have the story to share for years to come. At least it wasn't a kill with a stranger involved so it makes it a little more tolerable. So we figure going to Byron costs 25.00 to run and about 50.00 in fuel not to mention 4-5 hrs gone out of your day and food so 95.00 really isn't so bad accept now we have to go to driving school for a couple hrs for supervision. After i got my ticket in hand and after the officer calmed down I asked if my buddy was getting the same ticket because it really wasn't a drag race against him LOL and he replied with "by the way who left all that rubber" I smiled then he smiled and he said have a good night. P.S. I slaughtered that Mustang.:P

Cops can be pretty cool when you don't try to get over on 'em. They have a sense of humor too............ sometimes.

Sounds like you ran into a cool one there.

I somehow envision the scenes from Days of Thunder, when they both were driving rental cars. Lesson learned, before lighting them up, check your surroundings.

They were checked, he came up hard off a side street and i just removed my radar detector because the little suction cups just broke and i'm tired of getting hit in the chest every time i launch. Lesson learned and new suction cups ordered today!

It brought back bad teenage memories and kept me up half the night. I hated to give up my perfect record. I was even able to renew my license this year through the mail and slap a sticker on my license. Guess i won't be getting that treatment again for awile.

All Trilogy drivers need defensive driving systems - Beltronics radar detector 65XB and the laser jammer Blinder M25. I got nailed with a laser a few weeks ago while I was talking to my son in the MM doing 50 in a 35. The LEO was nearly invisible in a driveway surrounded by bushes. The Blinder worked flawlessly. I slowed down to 35 then turned off the jammer. My son said the LEO was looking at his laser gun as we passed him obviously wondering what happened. It saved my butt!!!

Usually if you take the supervision route AND don't get another violation in the next 12 months the driving record stays clean. If you were going fast enough to require a court apperance it may stick to your driving history. PM me with details and where court is going to be (Cook, Dupage, Lake, etc), I might be able to give you a clearer picture on the possible outcome.

The best I saw was when girl I knew, she was going out with a friend, who was never around, eventually they got married but they aren't anymore...

Anyway

She is a dancer. professional dancer.

She was driving along and there was a cop who waved her over asked if she knew how fast she was going, etc... It was amazing. Normally you leave the cop with all your information. Except this time she left with the cops information. Name Phone number ....

The police by me have no clue what the car is (Black 03 30A). When i wiz past the city, state and county they waive thinking i am one of them! i took the front plate off because the car looks so much cleaner with out that everyone thinks is a squad! plus the FBI hat in the rear window helps a bit with peole wanting to pass, ha ha ha on the way down to Florida i had no problems, set the cruise at 90-95 and ran with the crowds, Georgia State Troopers hide nicely in the brush but never touched me!
I have only had one close incounter with the red and blue kind:run:, :hide:but a quick exist to the gas station and he lost sight of me:banana2:, then actually pulled next to me (thought i was toast:flamer:) and filled up!

man i can have fun with these icon things!

Go to Ontario, it would have been a $10,000 fine each, a week or so without your ride and loss of license for a while. & or jail time.

Another reason not to go to Ontario.

I highly doubt police are confusing a Marauder with a cop car. The tinted headlights and the grille are a pretty clear giveaway that its not a CV. They probably just like the car. Even most people on the highway have no problem telling I'm not a cop. The only way they would think otherwise is if I sat in the median on the highway. Or if I had steel wheels. The bling MM rims stand out from a mile away.

Nope, they confuse it all right. The one that pulled me over had to have a radio chat first with the officer with whom he was travelling in tandem. It took them long enough to decide that they should check it out that I was about 10 miles down the road when he caught up - and that was with me only doing the speed limit (I had only been speeding to pass a line of cars doing 20 UNDER the speed limit - it gets like that around here).
Really good guy, talked for a while, and he told me about their initial uncertainty. The winter tires/rims helped too, I'm sure. Got a ticket - first in 17 years - but he wrote it for the lower speed. I guess I could have fought it, but he was very cool, friendly, and I know I was speeding, even if it was just to pass.
I guess that I could have gone to court and argued the "line of sight" thing - you know, how could he be certain it was me 10 minutes later, especially since from the time he saw me during the persuit on the horizon I was never over the limit once. But what the heck, right?

Even though tint on the driver and passenger side doors are illegal in Michigan this is what the top cop on Macomb county drives around in.Note the blue strobe on the rear door window. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/2/4/0/074.JPG
