I should just write this off and throw it away! But i have way too much invested now and can't turn back. First off my body work was not up to par but close enough. Second the first paint job put on by me with my old crappy gun was a botched mess. Third the second paint job with my new devilbis gun set and laid by my friend who's painted 20-30 cars and show cars turned out even worse because of moisture under the clear. Now i don't know what to do, it costs about $230.00 in material everytime i spray. My options are to buy a better compressor and filtration kit and more material $750-$850 and have a new compressor for years to come. Or chance it at maico for $300.00 and not accept untill it good (PROBABLY NEVER!) or my local body shop who's done awesome work for me in the past who wants $1050.00 and promises show car finish. Any decision will have to wait because funds are are swelled up and will be that way for quite some time. Maybe i should just put back the original hood and continue this experiment next year but after i've driven with this for the last two month's i couldn't stomach the thought of going back to stock.

I'm not understanding why it would be so expensive to spray it?

Paint, like you said is 230.00
I figure it's what, 5 hours MAX labor to paint it.

That's at most 750.00

Anyways, what are the issues you're having with moisture? You should already have a nice water trap on the compressor, and then you could always run a second trap at the gun. I've never really had any issues with moisture in my gun.

i never had probs with moisture either. just drain the compressor and get a cheap regulator/ water seporator. should be good

Yeah i've got a real cheap filter and i mean real cheap. Never had a problem before this. Its just become an everlasting nightmare. Maico won't even do a grill for less than $250.00 they call it minimum charge for booth. The local body shop will only do it if they can fix my bodywork and that is the only way i would want it to.
