Seems to be one of the only companies still doing it. I did my own with niteshades only because I didn't want the down time. Otherwise I would have gone this route. They ship OEM lights tinted for $200 if they have them in stock. Its cheaper if you ship your own lights out to them.

Just throwing it out there to anyone thinking about tinting their lights.

Hey, Darkside where did you buy the nightshades? I've looked in several FLAPS, and can't find it.

C.A.P. sells it, as well as ebay.

Bought it from Summit and it was delivered the next day. I still need to take a buffer wheel to them for some better shine.

Q. Cathedral City resident Oscar Rodriguez said he sees vehicles on the roads with dark-colored taillights, making their illumination hard to see. Such equipment seems unsafe, he suggested. But is it illegal?
A.Yes, these smoked, or blacked-out, taillights likely are illegal in some cases. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles' media relations office in Sacramento, the requirements are specified in Section 24600(e) of the vehicle code.
It states tail lamp-red illumination for all vehicles must be visible at a minimum distance of 500 feet. Furthermore, for all vehicles manufactured after Jan. 1, 1969, taillights must be visible at a minimum distance of 1,000 feet.

If coated properly it turns to glass after a dozen washes or so.

I'm tempted to pck up a used set of CVPI taillamps and have them done.

+1! I was thinking the same thing. Thats the beauty of sharing parts between different models.

Doing some work with this company right now. I'll post up pics once it is all said and done.

I did my own corners. With patience, proper masking, and wet sanding, it'll come out awesome.

I'm sure doing the tail lights would be fairly easy. Wet sanding is the key to get them super smooth. I've seen quite a few paint jobs without wet sanding and it just doesn't look right.

There is nothing better the OEM paint on the lenses with Clear coat over the entire lamp.
