<HR style="COLOR: #ccffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->My sons (Matt and Chris) and myself went to the AMS Friday night drags and car show on July 4. Matt (Navy LT JG) is home on leave from helo training at Whiting NAS, FL. Chris took some video of our three laps around the race track. I will honestly say that my first move up the 45 degree bank from level road on turn one was very intimidating and quite a thrill. I am definitely going to go in October during the NASCAR Pep Boys 500 race weekend to run laps nearly wide open in my MM (you pay big bucks for this thrill). I will not have the number of slow cars in front of us that we had in the video so I can go WOT.

Great video--you are s/c'd aren't you--sure sounded like it--top speed ???? Just watched my son do a 142.86 mph lap speed at Texas Motor Speedway today in a Nascar school car--quite a thrill for both of us. Last year I got to hit 120 mph crossing the finish line in the Marauder. Fresh tires and and the speed limiter kept me out of trouble. These cars are great. Seemed like you enjoyed the feel of the high bank--nothing like it. Great vid--enjoy, Maury

Oops--should have read your specs---Trilogy Rocks !!!!!!

Thanks for the video. :2thumbs: Great shots.

NOW WE RACIN' .......... How fast did you go to hold it on the high line?

BTW -- Banking in the turns at Atlanta Motor Speedway is 24 degrees. The straights are 5 degrees.

Too cool :cool4: They have a track day at Watkins Glen about 1 1/2 hrs from me. The car must pass inspection and have SS braided brake lines, which I have. You for sure have me wanting to do it now.

Rayjay, DO IT, DO IT. To run at Watkins Glen would be great, that looks like a great track, turns, elevation change, all the good stuff :banana2:

Check with your local Mustang, SVT, BMW or other car club. They often have track days and open spots for non-club members.

Hard to believe the banking is only 23 degrees. I walked up the banking and had to almost crawl down it was so steep. I could only go about 100 due to mainly the olde man in front of me in the 1968 Z28 Camaro and my basic insecurity with going fast on the high banks. But, now that I have done it I will go much faster the next time.

It's 24 degrees at Atlanta. Banking at Daytona is 31 degrees in the turns and 3 degrees on the straights. It is visually deceptive.

Yeah, I hate having "old men" in front of me too. :geezer:

Very well done Glenn!!:banana2:
You need a "blocker car" to open up some holes in "traffic" - Shake & Bake!!!:burn:
I wish I could make it down in October!

PaCammer & Myself run at the Pocono events. The Tri-Oval up there can really let you open up... we do front and back straight then the in field turns back out to the front straight...typically
I started running that track with my 72 pre-L Detomaso Pantera back in 2000 or so... it has a Boss 351C
...but I'll tell ya... The marauder can run with the Lambo's etc... just like the Pantera... but it's even funnier when the Ferrari guys get all pissed off cuz; as they would call the Maruader a "Glorified Taxi Cab" it just went pass them.

I've walked the Pre WWII race track at Brooklands in England.

That is so steep you can't even walk up it. That is 30 degree banking too.

I live just across a field from it.
