Its deafening . I have a Trilogy and the blower belt is fine, but the regular belt is old and stretched and cracked What size belt do I use Help please I would like to fix this tonight.:o
I cant find the thread, but a few Trilogy kits had issues with the alternator bracket causing a noise.
I know they were replaced free of charge.
Have you checked the idler pulleys on the timing cover yet?

Read the # on the old belt, you did try that right? :D
Highly doubtful the belt is the problem, but worth replacing if old.
Usually a belt will screech if it is wet. (oil or water)

I would use a Goodyear GatorBack belt: #4061000/6PK2540 for your accessories. It is designed to be a quite belt. This is the belt I am using and have had no issues for several years. In the meantime you may want to get a can of Belt Dressing to stop the squeal.
Note: The above belt was used with my UD pullies so it may not be correct for your setup. It is best to check your present belt as Zack stated and get a number off of it to be sure. Have someone kick the motor over slowly while you check the belt for the number as it rotates.

tried the belt dressing, it worked untill I shut the car off, then it started all over again when I started it back up
