I just thought of this while at work, but who do you think would win a '04 Supercharged Marauder or '04 F-150 Lightning. :D
If the Lightning is stock it would be the MM.

The Lightning would be stock... that's interesting.

Both would be stock... that's interesting.
The Marauder wouldn't be stock if it was supercharged

a S/c'd MM would beat a stock L, but there are very few stock Lightnings out there. I'd race a S/C'd MM against just about anything to see what kind of co-jons it's got. :bandit:
get video.

It could depend on the driver, with a blower and nothing else some folks have been run high 12's - mid 13's in marauders correct? Well the fastest gen 2 stock L ran a 13.1 I think, and there are a few that run mid 13's stock. IMO the Marauder should win but it's not a sure thing.

Whoever has more money to play with.
A local guy here just finished a twin Kenne Bell s/c Lightning with Ford GT DOHC Heads...and the thing looks stock. Look for it on a magazine cover soon.(hint: it is a TRUCK.) I watched the truck go together and it is BADDDDDD.

It isn't always who has the most money, it is who has the worst luck, they lose.

What about traction with a pickup truck?? I would expect the more power you put to the tires the more it will spin??
Never could figger out why Ford SC'd a truck.....DANGER!!!:shake::eek :

with the old motor it was running 11.001 with 1.64 60 foot.

I don't think weight transfer w/ a pickup is as bad as you think. I have seen pickups at the track w/ stock suspensions pulling some pretty good 60 foots

Bone stock Lightning with a decent driver should be easily capable of 13.5 - 13.7. Assuming only a blower, the Marauder should be able to pull the truck, by the end of the race, but would be very close... Here's why I think so:
The aero is better in the MM, and I would guess an otherwise stock MM would trap around 103-104 (but maybe someone else can chime in with experience). The highest I trapped in my Lightning (when stock) was 102.86, but was much more likely to be closer to 101.
The extra mph can help the MM play catch up, but I think the launch will be key, since an otherwise stock S/C Marauder would be seriously hampered by the BFG tires. I'd say that in the first 1/8, the Lightning would be ahead, but see taillights by the end of the 1/4.

Hmm... I don't have a problem in my Lightning :burnout:It was pretty easy 2.0s when I was completely stock, and trying to learn how to launch at the track (read: I'm not too good at launching). Since adding more power, I've been able to cut 1.7s on Nitto Drag Radials, and 1.8s on stock Goodyear rubber...
The lack of weight over the rears does have a negative effect in wet, but at the track, weight transfer on these turcks is top notch (kudos to SVT).
Unfortunately, I am at the point where I am overpowering the 295-45-18 Goodyears at the track, and will have to get better rubber, before I run it, again...

It all depends on how much work and money has been spent on both vehicles. Stock for stock, a Lightning will beat a Marauder hands-down. Once SC'd it depends on the above. A friend of mine has a Lightning with a built motor (5.4) like my car (4.6) but with a turbo. He has run it with M/T drag radials at the 1/8 mile and pulled a 7.38 et. Our race shop previously questioned a race between his Lightning and my Marauder. The mechanic speculated my car would win based on weight and traction. My best 1/8 mile was 7.0 et. It would be a close race non-the-less. In the 1/4 mile, my car is favored hands-down.

I have them both, just like QWK SVT, same exact colors too as a matter of fact, lol.
My Lightning has a 6# lower pulley, K&N FIPK2 intake, Bassani mids and cat-back, a C&L Plenum, and SBTB, I have a tune for it and a valve body waiting to go in it. Right now the truck should be more than capable of mid 12s, and that's not a whole lot of work. I know a lot of other people who have A LOT more done to their trucks.
BUT all things being equal, "Stock" Trilogy MM, vs Stock L, MM would win. I think we also established the fact that a "Stock" Trilogy MM would beat a Stock Termi 'stang too.
Regardless of outcome, this thread is worthless without a vid :)

I'd like to see that one. I'm assuming that they would both be on street tires?
Check it out ( 2 vids) :burnout:

I raced a gen II Lightning a while back.
I can say, It would probably come down to the driver .
The Lightnings I have encountered mostly have been modified much more than I am.
