Lately the check engine light kept coming on intermittently for a DTC code P0461 ( "Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Range/Performance" ). Finally it was on all the time. I could not find any wiring problems with the fuel gauge sensor circuit and was getting frustrated with this. Finally I decided to change the fuel filter since it has been a year or so since I last changed it. Now its been a month and no more check engine light :banana:.
I didn't know that the fuel level sensor was monitored by the computer. Has anyone had this code before? Is this normal?
The old filter was a fram #G8018 (made in China), replacement is a Motorcraft FG-986B (made in USA).
