There are far too many classified ads with 'Make Offer' in them.
I cant think of one other forum that allows this.
This isnt a Silent auction house for crying out loud!

Price mandatory or the ad is pulled, end of story.

...just a suggestion :D

I agree with this. Obo or negotiable may be ok within reason, esp. with cars for sale, but otherwise prices should accompany ads.

Some other boards I'm on will automatically delete ads w/ no price. That's the way it should be.

No, we want a bidding war. Object goes to the person who will pay the most for it!!

A few other forums I am on require for vehicles sales it list a lot of info and must have a picture. Obo along with a price should be the only way. If someone wants make an offer, sorry but then I am going to want the item for as cheap as possible and then the seller will get offended if the offer is too low "low ball".

Then put the object on ebay!

I agree with Zack. No price, ad is pulled, end of story.

What's the problem with making an offer? Skeered of offering too much and getting accepted?

What if every ad in the newspaper and magazines for everything were "make offer"?
That wouldn't bother you?

Not really. I'd shop around and figure out what I thought was a fair price, then make an offer.

But how can you shop around for what you think the fair price is when everyone doesn't have a price displayed but instead "make offer".

That was my whole point with no one displaying the price.

I have an ad on here with "make an offer" and the only reason is I have no idea what the stuff is worth.

If you truly have "no idea" what it's worth and I offer you $1 for your stuff, you wouldn't be insulted would you?

A hand shake and an atta boy!! Lol but seriously I'm not wouldn't be offended by that offer, I really don't know what a used water pump and used gears are worth to somebody, so I said make an offer, thinking that someone would get a good deal, I'm not here to make a killing off my MM.net brothers and sisters
