Who has installed their own trailer wiring harness?
I tried to install mine tonite with no success. The right turn signal works fine. When I hit the left, the right comes on again. They are hooked up to the correct wires in the 'box' and to the correct taillight. I also dont seem to have any marker lights or brake lights. I'm baffled as to why. I tested the wires I tapped into and they were the correct ones. but I cant get any of the right lights to work on the trailer.

Who has done their own wiring and can tell me what wires they used? Each bulb has a 'Major' 'Minor' and 'Ground' wire. I wired the turn signals to the majors, marker lights to the minors, and brakes to the majors as well. I grounded the box to the trunk latch ground point.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I connected the pigtail as follows:

Ground to Chassis
Rt Turn/Brake to Rt tail light Brake wire
Lt Turn/Brake to Lt tail light Brake wire
Marker/Tail lights to Lt tail light Light wire (could have gone to Rt side just as well)

This is with the 4-wire flat connector.

I may be able to check colors tomorrow.

checking colors would be great if you could.
That sounds exactly like what I did. There are 2 bulbs per taillight assembly, I made all my connections to the bulb closest to the trunk lid.

Perhaps Ford has a factory pigtail with diagram.
