I just transfered my JLT CAI from my old Marauder(04 w/72kmiles) to my new Marauder(04 w/9kmiles). I cleaned and reoiled the filter using the K&N recharge kit , switched the MAFs over and put it on the new one. I started the car and let it idle for about ten minutes before driving it. seemed fine. took it a mile down the road up to about 65 gradually, seemed fine.went about another mile then jumped on it, fine, then jumped on it again, seemed fine, then as I was slowing down, the rpms stayed at 2500 until i stopped, came down to about 1900rpms then surged forward with my foot on the brake. Luckily, I was back home at that point so i just pulled in the driveway and threw it in nuetral and shut it off. when I re-started the car, the rpms jumped up to 4500!!! and stayed there until I shut it off. After letting it sit for a while, restarted 3x's, same thing 4500rpms! then lower rpms 2 more times (around 2500) then back to normal. Took it back out for another ride after, and it seemed normal.I do notice it doesnt sound as loud as it did on my other MM,but the power is there?? WTF!! Any ideas??

The new ride don't want no hand me downs it seems.
I didn't see where you disconnected the battery, maybe it had a hard time relearning the air flow with previous values still in it rather than baseline. Rick

Try what Iowa Rick said first. Disconnect neg battery terminal so the ECM can relearn.

It is also possible that there might be oil from the filter on the MAF filiments. If so use Electronic parts cleaner from CRC to clean them.

Yeah disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and get some Electronics Cleaner or MAFS Cleaner made by CRC and spray the MAF down real good.

No, that is suggested when you want the PCM to relearn new strategy
