Someone decided to spit their gum out on my front bumper. The sun melted it into a nice little puddle. I got the bulk of it off but I'm afraid to scrape it too hard. Does goo gone or mineral spirits work on gum?

Could try an Ice cube and try to flick it off. I'd do that first, then any of the other suggestions. Good old WD-40 will work too. Mineral spirits will work.

Freeze it with ice cubes, get off as much as you can then use Goo Gone on the rest.

Stay away from denatured alcohol and GooGone. Stick with WD-40 or Mineral Spirits (the oily stuff). Then use good wax on top of that to protect the paint. FWIW.

WD-40 is the way to go.

Gasoline on paint is a BAD idea. It will lift and stain over time. Way too aggressive for paint.
