Men, Women and offroad,
I tried removing the passenger cam cover this AM. Need I say more?
Now I'm looking for a very experienced Mustang or Ford shop to work on this thing in the Boston area.
Like I said before, I wish Zack or Dennis were closer, but no such luck :(
BTW, thanks Larry for your experience with the valve spring. I do not want to go to a dealer if I can at all avoid it.
sd, thanks for your suggestion on dezracing. I will be keeping them on my short list.
I wanted a few more suggestions, maybe someone a lot closer to Boston or the Metrowest area.
Hope I get a nice fat list of totally honest and Ford experienced mechanics ;)

Go to Tasca Ford in RI. They are an authorized SVT dealer, and do their own work to any and all 'Stangs, they can probably help you out. I'd recommend Outlaw Dyno, but they're just tuning.

One of the FEW people I let work on any of my cars, and he's a true Ford enthusiast.

If Dave trusts this guy to work on his cars, I would.

Good to meet you Dave. Thanks for the suggestions and input. Thanks hot-rauder, Thunderbolt. I will likely drop in on Don and have a chat with him tomorrow... I'll keep you posted. I've see Don's shop for years, and never knew how reputable or experienced he was on Fords. Great info, thanks,

Talked to Bob today, seems like a nice guy, but he won't get involved beyond taking a peak under the cover. I'm finding most people do not want to do engine work on this car... Three other shops turned me down, as well...

sdxxxx mentioned DEZracing in Seekonk. I spoke to Mike and Brian there today. This is their bread and butter - mod motor mustangs. I felt good rapport and confident they know what they are doing. They have their own machine shop and dyno. I'm looking for references since I've never dealt with them before. Anyone else used them?

DEZ is VERY reputable on the Mustang boards..
The only reason I didn't mention him too was I wasnt sure if you were willing to travel that far.
A friend of mine had him install a Procharger on his 96 Cobra, dynoed it, did a tune, the whole bit. Needless to say he was very satisfied with Mike Dez's ( And Brian's) work.

If you are towing that far please use a flatbed, U don't want any more damage enroute. Price should be about the same, at least it is out here. Rick

Do you have AAA
AAA Gold Card is the way to go...it's saved me 8 or 9 times in the last 3 years....even when i broke down in Rockville CT and had to have it towed back to Mass.
When Adam's motor blew, he used it to tow his MM for the hour tow to the dealership to be fixed.
I only pay $40 a year for it...100 miles free towing (each time). That alone makes it worth it, even if used once a year.

Got it. I think I have the PLUS card, which is $100 per year... That should do it?;)

Tell me about it, man. Sorry about your motor. I'm not glad to have company in it... :(
Thanks guys for your help! I'm calling AAA right now to make sure they will do it. Still waiting for KB-Marauder-S to get back to me on dezracing...

Dude DEZ Racing is hands down the best shop I have ever taken a car too! I would HIGHLY recommend this shop. They do not mess around.
When I was there getting the Dyno tune I had a misfire that required changing all the spark plugs. He removed the coil packs, the plugs, installed everything, in about 35 minutes. While talking and joking with us and the other guys in the shop. He know everything about the motor and made it look rediculously easy!
Trust me you will NOT be disappointed with that shop! I would take my car to them for everything if it was closer!

Anyway to keep the pipes from scraping? The car isn't even lowered...
Mike will do a leak-down first to see where the pressure is going. I'll keep you posted...

I wish I lived closer... I'd diagnos/fix it for you. I hate seeing Marauders down... especially for something that is just simple and unfortunate.
I love these motors.... but the smallest problem can take an entire weekend to fix.

Thanks CK. That's awful kind of you. Yes, very time consuming to repair.
