Can someone tell me the advantage of using the iridium spark plugs in a high boost supercharged application.
I've been using standard type plugs for years and heard that the iridiums are supposed to be a big improvement and I would like to know how before purchaseing a set.
Thanks for all input.

It's been determined through testing by quite a few members here that the Denso iridium plugs don't offer any real advantage, at least not when their price is factored in. I know Trilogy recommends Motorcraft copper plugs with their kit; I'm not sure about the others.

Cooper core plugs are the way to fly.

Copper is the best conductor less life expectancy.
just change more often.Still seem to work best
for performance engines.
platinum works well longer life. Older engines
will foul them (burning oil or running rich)
will be waste of money.
Iridiums-cost to much, tried them inseveral cars
no noticeable improvement one car ran worse-
I don't recommend

NGK TR6IX are the way to go if you go in that direction. In theory, they will work as good as the copper plus, with the exception of not having to have to change them as often. Using them will go against the consensus of the board, but I rarely follow the norm anyway, so If you try them let us know how they work out. They will be my next set regardless.

They make your wallet far lighter than using NGK. ;)
