I called Ray this morning to ask him what a new power window motor would run. I explained what was going on (window going down very slowly and not closing all the way) and he asked me if I had tried a silicon lubricant on the felt window track. I said no and immediately grabbed some from our machine supply area at work and went outside. I sprayed the sides and top of the track, not too liberally, and proceeded to toggle the switch. Voila! Up and down like new. I will apply this treatment to the other 3 windows just as a precaution. Perhaps you guys already knew this trick, but just in case you did not, I thought I would post. I think I owe Ray a couple bottles of vanilla!

if you had asked what to do with that situation, I would have told you the same thing... works great!

I think any kind of silicon spray will do. I would stay away from tire shine. That stuff may be hard to get off any surrounding surfaces.

Back up since May. Stronger than ever. I won't race it until the fall though. This heat is not good for racing.

Thanks for the help, having the same problem...window is very slow, dealership already lubed it once, it helped but wasn't long before it was back to being slow, and if I do more than one window at a time it really slows down....

Do not use tire shine. Use a good silicon spray. You might want to sniff it too, because you will smell it in the car for a while. Wurth make some that smells like "Lemon Pledge".

Hey, I have the same problem with the driver's window....slow as molasses!! Sometimes it doesn't close tightly and there's a gap at the top left (from the driver's seat perspective.) Ray - the vanilla is the BESTEST!! :D

How did you apply the silicone spray without getting it on the windows?

Put the window down and spray into the channel around the opening.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
