New 03 300A Marauder Owner

Hi,
I have been a member of this site for about a year. I bought a 04 Grand Marquis last year instead of a Marauder against the advise of a few on this site. (They thought a Marauder was a better choise) Well, after watching the Marauders since then I decided I wanted one. I bought a 03 with 18k miles on it with a factory warranty that is good until next year. The build date was 08/13/02. It is 100% stock with no mods. Only option is the trunk CD changer. Is there anything I should keep watch for before the warranty runs out besides the Police? I am keeping the Grand Marquis as the daily driver and will drive the Marauder on nice days and store it for the Winters. Are they many folks on this site from Wisconsin?

Congrats on your Marauder purchase. There are a few things that seem to plague early 03's. I'm sure someone will list them for you. IIRC, soft axles is one item.

Besides my 03 MM, I also own and use a 03 MGM LSE as a daily driver. I hope you will enjoy these 2 cars as much as I do.

One detail that you could check : corrosion sometimes appear on the 03 MM and MGM left doors (bottom, inside). It happens on my MGM, not on the MM. I managed to limit the damages. But it would have been easier if I had been more proactive.

There are many issues, some mentioned already, another is bad paint, a pinched wiring harness, behind the left cam cover, some cars have one or two of the issues, some have more. What a fantastic automobile, enjoy.

Check with your local FLM dealer. There was a TSB on the axles.
