I purchased new headlights and corner lamp assemblies for the Merc. Why such a terrible alignment? The factory setup was bad, but not as bad. I have noticed it on some of the members Marauders also in their photos. I know the wiring is not in the way behind the assemblies. Anyone know what to do? Also, the rubber seal on the drivers side corner assembly isn't even touching the fender! No, my Merc was never in an accident.

Thanks Guys.

the headlights are tyc (tong yang company) they are aftermarket and if the cornering lamps are the same tyc then they will never fit. thats why the gaps are all off.

Like the dealer tells me all the time. "It's a FORD sir" Especially after ordering the panel thats got the petal switch. "They only make the on with both switches traction control and petal movement." OR the rear mirror with no on off button like the factory one. OR the deck bezel tag panel with the key lock hole so far off you could not get the key in to open the trunk..... There only comment is always the same. IT"S A FORD.... :mad2:

None, will line up as good as the original OEM's...

That's just something we all have to accept...

Possibly the most important thing to remember about our cars, is to ues OEM parts for all body parts, lights, and glass. Aftermarket does not fit like OEM.

I have noticed when removing and reinstalling the tail light housings for the S55 paint job that it is critical to hold the housings in place/alignment while tightening them. The frist time back in and the trunk lid barely closed and the rubber seals were not sitting anywhere close to where the should have been!!!
You may have to reinstall them and check to see what "range of adjustment" there is before you actually tighten the housings in place.

My thoughts exactly.

I bet they are not lined up in their channels as well as they could be, and some nuts are over tightened.

I pull mine out frequently, and it helps to have a friend hold the lenses straight while replacing the nuts/screws.

You guys are absolutely right!
Even after I made my adjustments for a better fit ( as I put in my second post) I still had to hold the assembly while tightening.
Thanks Guys.

My Marauder was backed into by a truck by the incompetant delivery guys. It also sticks out. I've had it remounted & tightened a couple of times. It has alot holding it inplace so don't worry about it falling out.

You can use a wrench and tighten it just inside behind the lamp.

Passenger light as mentioned above, is a TYC light. Taiwanese aftermarket.
