I just bought my '03 MM 300A a couple days ago from a local dealer who snaged it from another dealer 60 miles away. According to the sticker there should be a trunk organizer priced at $200. Inside the trunk all I see is the spare and CD changer. What does the organizer consist of? Should there be an ashtray insert as well? I do have floor mats! I believe the cars born date was Oct 7, 02, so it may have been sitting for awhile.

I'm calling the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks,

Mark

I think there is a photo of the organizer in the gallery. Basiclly, the trunk org., is a plastic tub with dividers and a lid that sits into the rescessed area of the trunk. When you have the organizer in, the trunk is not as deep. The organizer is really nice, and saves my things from rolling around back there. I would be all over the dealer. Its cheap enough for them, and if its on your window sticker, it should have come in your car.

...and yes, there should be an ashtray insert that goes in the cup holder...

The trunk organizer sits in that depression in the trunk floor. It's a heavy plastic insert, and is slotted such that you can divide it into 4 resizeable divisions with removeable panels. The top of the organizer is covered by two folding hard covers, and if you don't know about it you might be misled into thinking it IS the trunk floor. If you see handles on the trunk floor, try pulling up on them, they will be the trunk organizer covers.

If all you have is the deep well, it's time to call the dealer.
(I have the ashtray insert as well... it's basically sitting in one of the two cup holder spots on the console, although it may be in your glove box if it was never put to use).

stang: Welcome to the site! Pretty much sums it up. The ash holder is more than likely in the center consold. And if the trunk organizer is not there they owe it to you per the window sticker. Check you spare tire should be a full size as you have a 300A by your build date. 300B's had a mini spare amoung others things.

stang - Was your MM new or used. The dealer owes you a trunk organizer if the MM was sold as new. PS don't forget the leather jacket. You will receive a card from FMC in approx. two weeks which has to be returned. They will then ship it to you. According to the build date you probably have a 300A. Enjoy your new ride.

If you have traction control, you have a 300B (Switch on lower left instrument panel). I show a build date of 11/04/02 and have all the 300A equipment except the full size spare--mine does not show the trunk liner on the window sticker and shows the traction control as "Standard " equipment--this time period was apparently the change-over time from 300A to 300B. My window sticker shows --300B--also have nudo charcole interior---but my shifter is jet black ????

stang,
If you need to see the real thing in person, pls send me a PM and you are welcome to come to my house/garage about 25 miles away in Colesville, MD near Route 29 and 198. Took me a month to get the correct trunk organizer which I purchased with my new MM and finally got the right one last Friday.
It would appear that your car was canabalized for another customer! Check your wheels!!! Be sure to clean your wheels with VERY MILD car washing soap, NOT wheel cleaner. Then apply a non-abrasive polish and check for any acid etching of the clearcoat. If any is noticed, COMPLAIN loudly to the dealer. I have already been that route and now my SHINE brightly!
Good luck and give me a buzz, I'm the second listing in the public Montg. Co phone book under Gordon Bottom, middle initial R.
