Don't use carb & choke cleaner.

Mine had been sitting around in the garage for awhile and were pretty filthy. I sprayed them off with carb cleaner and it dissolved the silicone beads around the ports. Now I gotta buy some gaskets tomorrow.

Yeah, I had both types of cleaner. I figured intake gaskets, carb & choke cleaner, should go together. After the first one wrinkled the edges and started to deteriorate I tried brake cleaner on the second one and it worked ok.

Brake-Kleen works on EVERYTHING!

It even works great to 'freeze-dry' those nasty 1/2 spider - 1/2 cricket bugs that I have in my basement!
I keep a can at the bottom of the basement steps.

I would've used WD-40 on those gaskets then wipe them dry. I also clean the throttle plate with it.

carb cleaner has some horribly aggressive solvents in it
