Well, there i am sitting at the light and this large black m-b pulls up next to me and my lady friend. We are talking, but find ourselves drowned out by the loud techno music comming from the new (beverly hills paper dealer plate) mercedes benz e500 sedan.

The two young men driving the car have their windows down, and immedeately start eyeing the marauder. They kinda rev it a little. And before i get ready, the light turns green!

I turn overdrive off, and floor it. The windows are down, the air conditioning is blasting, and my tunes are on. Its a pretty close race, our engines winding up nicely. I hear his car, but it is drowned out by the magic sound of the american v-8. As soon as my car shifts into second, my car leaps ahead!

I continue to gain ground on him. Every time my car shifts i am pushed back into my seat thanks to that noticible shift pattern of dennis'.

The marauder is now at least a car and a half ahead of him with open road ahead. We are now up to about 70 and i am still ahead. He cant gain any ground and i am pulling still. Nice and hard!

Up ahead, i see a cop on a traffic stop, so i look behind me and check the m-b. After verifying he is way behind me, i tap my brakes to let him know whos the boss and slow down for the cops.

He dosent get the hint and keeps going! Right past the cops and has to violently swerve to change lanes around a slower car. I keep it backed off and pass the cops.

The total race was about four or five blocks. I caught up to him at the light, and they complement me. They turn down the radio and ask me what i have in it.. I tell them its the dohc 4.6 they act like they know whats up, but i get the impression its just little rich kids in daddys new car. They tell me they have a "500" And i never saw the badging because i never saw the rear of their car.

But they turn left and i get a look at the beverly hills plate, and the badging.

I had a nice grin from ear to ear. My friend just laughed at the rich kids...

Score another one for the marauder. Man do i want that supercharger!!!! Is there anybody out there with about 7+g for a nice guy like me???

Your probably right, i was going alot faster than 70, i just was not sure. I was watching the road, and i remember seeing my speedo somewhere around 70. I would rather pay attention to the road and the other car, than checking my speedo. Oh, well, i had fun.

S600 TT V12 5.5 Liters makes 493 HP and an incredable 590 Ft LBS trq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But they weigh and incredable 4600 LBS!!!!!!!!!!! almost as much as my Lightning and they trap high 120+ MPH at 12.4/12.6 in the 1/4 mile.

The biggest the E class has is the 5.4 S/C V8 with 469 HP and 516 FT lbs. Thats not the Ford Modular 5.4 either.

Now you know why I'm getting twin hairdriers.:D :D :D For the Merc.

Keep in mind, that E class benz with the 5 liter V8 is 20 cases of Ziti MORE than sticker of an MM, and Mercedes aint too keen on discounts.

The specs on the 4.966 Liter SOHC V-8

302 horses at 5600 rpm

339 lb-ft @ 2700 - 4250 rpm

10:1 compression ratio

and the beast needs 91 octane, just like us.

In all fairness, the transmission on this car is superior, in that it allows the driver to manually downshift or upshift by nudging the shift lever to the left or right in the drive position.

If you want a hoot, go to www.mbusa.com and do a model comparison to the 3500 to a 2004 Marauder (yes, it's a 2004)

I did the comparison on that site.
They have the 2003 Marauder as well, but specifically indicate "300B sedan"

It says the 2003 Marauder does not have a "Passenger Airbag Cutoff Switch/Sensor" this isn't true. it may not have a on off switch, but it has a sensor to tell if someone is seated in the passenger seat or not, and controls airbag deployment.

It says the 2004 Marauder does have a "Passenger Airbag Cutoff Switch/Sensor" I wonder if that means there is an actual on-off switch now?

Logan, MB doesnt make an e600. Their top of the line e-class is the e55 kompressor which puts out 469 hp. But an e600 would be cool :P

he he thanks....

You know, i dont get to race much. I dont play with the kids and their rice. Mustangs and Camaros dont challenge me much on the street. (it has happened a couple of times) I got bit by a cobra, but i was laughing so hard i didnt care how much i lost by. So, maybe i need to be more agressive.

Top dog in MB is the 'S' 600
And if I could afford 1, and got beat by a car 1/4th the cost I would drive directly to my dealer and punch him straight in the mouth for the humilitation.

glad to hear about the E500 ...another guy I know just bought one and I have been talking alot of *****e...without really knowing...and it will be a put up or shut up soon....this Was a new one wasn't it?...don't want to get myself too far under ...!!

another has the E55...have left him alone for now..I have driven that one and at WOT it feels like there is an electromagnet somewhere at the end of the road that was just switched on..

Let's see 125 large. that's 4 MM's and an used mustang.

well goes to show that PT Barnum was right. When the MM and the MB pull up tp the light it's they MB driver doing the most looking.

nice job against the 500. Just add the vortec S/C and the 600 will only be seen in the rear mirror also.
