At least you got the right color the second time around. Welcone to the SB club. There is no way in hell I would have bought a black one living out here in the desert. Next time you make it down to LV let us know there are a few MMs here in town and we had our first get together last Friday. We only had 5 at our get together but considering I can go months with out seing another MM I thought that was pretty.

All I can say is that my wife is relieved more than myself. She's so sick of "Hey look at this" or "look what I found" She said buy the damn car or a new wife I'm sick of cars!!! I'm hyped about not having to clean black every 5 minutes at car shows. AND not feel guilty for going 4 days without a car wash. This SB will be in good hands. Sadly she will be daily driven for likely 200k. But I'll do my best to take care of her. My eventual goal is to drive it till its paid off. Then start to tear into it. If anything breaks it will be replaced with something better. If that engine has issues. Oh baby its gona get some work. :)

I'm very excited. I do however want my old VIN to be known by what production number it is. If your VIN is close to mine get the hell rid of your marauder the paint will fall off like a stale glazed donut.

Are you blind, thats a SB

Did you return your 03A back to OEM so you could put all the stuff you bought on this new 04?

Good luck with it :)

Oh no...

I don't know why no one did it but we should get a list of all the bad paint cars and see if there is anything ford can do or if we can track down which ones are ones to avoid based on their order number. I mean obviously the next few above and below my old one are gona have the same issues.

The SHO guys did a class action lawsuit against Ford for the V8 cam failures (I was one of them) I got sick of chasing it because I had so much on my mind with school back then.

Offroad: yup...

got the Ipod interface, Proguard, and Xcal ready go go. Infact I'm taking the Xcal2 with me to pick it up. Driving a marauder without a tune is a crime. Once I recover from the cost of the trip I'm going to order UDP's, intake spacer, and get 4.10's in there asap. 4.10's will probly be first.

Just wait...

You'll unlock a Marauder you never knew was there. The torque converter lockups, the tranny shifts. The way she'll run. Its a HUGE difference. It seriously feels like a 25-30hp downer taking the tune off.

Worschesser sawse... hahah Larry the Cable guy.

Yea that flood thing wasn't cool. I didn't even scroll down after I read the first line. I had a heart attack and after my dog gave me CPR I scrolled down. If I lived close you'd definatly get a jar of vasaline under the door handle. (I love that burn. 100% car friendly)

Are you a real estate agent? To buy my Marauder I took the money out against the equity in my house....now my home is worth 30 grand more than it was last year so its almost like I got a free car....almost.;) Car loans are the worst.

Have fun with the new ride!

Yup, Realtor. The one thing I would never do nor advise someone to do is take money thats making them money and spend it on something that depreciates like a car. Your nuts!!

SID, that sounds like a butt load of fun!

We're flying in on the 22nd of August, looks like we'll arrive at around 2:30ish. I'm paying for the car via wire transfer so there won't be much drama, the owner is picking us up at the airport and giving us the car there. From there we have 1400 miles to do by sunday. I usually plan for a contingency to slow us down a bit. This actually sounds like a contingency worth burning some time for. As long as it does take to long consider us in. Its funny my dad goes "you did what?? In texas? Again?...I'm in..." hahhahah I wouldn't have any car care stuff other than whats in my backpack so I may have to barrow a few things. I'll talk with my co-driver and get his thoughts.

You'd have to come find me because I do not know my way around. I'll have my GPS but sometimes it wigs out.

Okay.....people start showing up about 7:30pm on Friday...you can stay as long or as little as you like....if that is too late we can just do and early diner. And if you do decide to just hang out till the carshow you can clean up and relax a bit at my place and have a place to go thru the Marauder with a fine tooth comb.

Yup I hear ya...just seems to sting a lot less than an extra car payment each month. There is a Saleen Mustang like yours featured in the latest issue of 5.0 Mustang. Its a readers ride near the back.

Hopefully you can get 5 TX Marauder members to attend so they can all sit in the SB with swimmin trunks on. This way they can squish the water out of the interior before the long ride home.

Nice Car. Good find.

Are you sure your XCal is able to talk to this new one? I thought they were coded to the EEC unit number in the door jamb, or have you already worked that out?

If not, you've got a bit of time to figure it out.

Sid, I really appricate that offer of both opening up your pad and garage to let us relax and check the car over. I'll see if I can stretch my trip an extra day. If so we're definatly in for the car show.

Here is the beginning of my oasis report -- look at "35 miles"

Warranty repair history:
Engle-Rissinger Auto Group (Halifax, PA)
4/3/03 @ 30 miles
drained fuel tank and refiller to 1/2 per ssm#16465 (Check engine light on)
10/1/03 @ 35 miles
repainted hood
repainted trunk
repainted roof (all from industrial fallout)

The sides of my car were repainted at a later date (by previous owner). All of the sides, not just one panel. So there must have been further 300a-style clear coat problems that manifested itself in what was left of the original paint. I can provide my info if that is helpful (I have my sequence #, I don't know what "order #" is but I'm sure someone can figure that out)

Vortech347
08-11-2008, 11:34 AM
Yup. My hood, roof, trunk was repainted but the sides didn't break down untill a few months ago when I was out of warranty. When I had mine repainted it was right after I purchased my car and it was BAD I don't think the last owner cared.
