so tonight I went to the 1/4 mile track for the test and tune night 50! bucks to get in ok I say to myself I want to see what my car will do so I pay. get inside and its like 90% pro street cars tuning for some race tommoro! finally get on the track turn off t/c and o/d try a run dang near went and did a 360! so any how an hour later get on the track again t/c on o/d on figure what the hey might work also dropped the Psi in the rear tires to 20 nope same stuff no traction at all it used to be that the test and tune nights were for street cars guess not anymore. anybody have some ideas to help me hook up looking to maybe get some drag radials next I guess. It sucked having those other cars there made the track slick as snot! oh well i got 2 vette kills on the street so I know my cars fast.

Are you going through the water box and then just staging? If you are you need to do a burnout past the water box to get the water off and heat the tires so they will stick.

Would be a good idea to list what mods you have.

tried the water box and without currently only mod is the trilogy s/c I think I just need some better tires I like to run the same as what I do though on the street.

As we all know, but sometimes need to be reminded, you MUST, have some kind of enhanced sticky tire to run out at the track. No street tire will hook-up, thats why there street tires. Good luck with slicks.

What was your et's and Mph? 60' times?
You got to tap the pedal and roll it to the floor, It takes some finess to launch this heavy car.

You need some drag radials! Maybe some Mickey Thompson ones, *cough* (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43118) :)

There is good advice in this thread though. On street tires on the track surface you're really going to have to finesse it, especially on stock KDWS tires.

I know Marauders are about 800lbs heavier than my old Cobra...

but my Cobra put 400 to the back tire and I was cutting 1.7 60's on a set of 275/50/17 BFG KDW street tires.

With our weight and I saw you have a trilogy (instant TQ) you are going to need either practice or help. Seat time is always a good way to improve. You might want to invest in some 15" wheels and some drag radials or slicks. Drag Radials should be enough to help you get off the line. Slicks would be even better... but they will also help find the next weakest link in your drivetrain.
