i had recently purchased a new computer from ford, the original was BMDO. when he looked in his computer it said the BMDO was changed to JHMO. i installed it but it wouldnt turn over. the lights went on , also you can hear the fuel pump primeing but it wouldnt crank over. anything has to be done to prep for a new eec?

I'm not aware of JHM0 even BEING a valid code for the Marauder...could you have gotten an ECM for a Grand Marquis by mistake?
The fact that your motor won't even turn over sounds like a PATS issue...sorry I can't help with that... :(

First I've heard of JHMO (not saying it doesn't exist, just that there was no reference to it when I spoke to my dealer tech about 2 weeks ago). Almost sounds like they gave you the wrong computer.
(didn't someone post something about some Marauders coming out of the factory with wrong computers and not starting at all?)

Also, just being nosy again, why were you putting in a new ECM?

I had this same no-turning-over symptom once... only once... the incident eventually involved Ford Roadside Assistance.... and lots of cursing... and stranded folks... etc. ;)
That was during my "sliced harness" ordeal, shorting out the PCM fuse.

I believe the PATS has to be programmed into the new eec. Not sure if different codes will cause problems, but even if they had the same code it would require programming the PATS. I believe that has to be done at the dealer.

As others have said, you can't just plug in a new PCM. You have to get a dealer to reprogram PATS or it ain't gonna do nothin'.
