I had a new set of BFGs put on at NTB Saturday 8-9-08. When I got The Car between 65 and 75 it felt like I was on a cobble stone street. So, today I took it to my local Ford dealer and the tech said all 4 were badly out of balance specs. cost was $20.

I will never give business to NTB again. The only reason I went this time is they were the only tire dealer including tire rack that had the rear BFGs.

Just wanted ya'll to know.

Tire rack has front and rears, I got my Rears last week from them and I just ordered my new fronts 10 minutes ago.

Who is NTB?

NTB is an affiliate of Tire Kingdom. Maybe they aren't where you live. They are in the southeast though. I checked Tire Rack last week and they were out. They must have gotten some in stock now.

Just curious, were the tires warm from driving when they were balanced the 2nd time? I had Kumho Ecsta Supra's on my Focus and we (tire store) discovered that they would not balance properly when cold. They had to be warmed up 1st. The second time I replaced the Kumhos they mounted them and I then took them out for a few miles. They balanced right up and were perfect, when warm. I noticed that my BFGs on the front are shaky until they warm up, then fine.

No two tire machines will balance the same exactly, would need to know what "off by a ton" is before saying they did anything wrong. But yeah the NTB out here had to refinish two of my wheels after they damaged the clear coat. I found a guy who will let me mount and balance and align my own cars at the shop he works at, after hours, so I don't have to worry about BS like this anymore.
