View Full Version : Pep Boys liked my car

I went to Pep Boys today to get a tire changed. One of my tires had a slow leak and I happen to have a factory rim with a good tire on it so I asked them to make the swap. The only problem was they did the wrong tire at first. I said to change the front left with the tire in the trunk and they did the right when I asked them. The guy was like ya the right see? I pointed to his instructions and it said left and I was like ya see "left." So the change was made.

Before I had to tell the guy how to do his job I noticed about 6 or 7 people crowding around the Marauder when they had the hood open. I was thinking why is the hood open? All I wanted was one tire change. So when I went up to them I asked if it was low on blinker fluid and I think they thought I was serious for a second. Some manager said I needed new rear tires and I told him mine were recalled or something. The only thing this car needs is headers and those are coming soon. So one guy says do you ever race and of course I say yes and one guy gave me his number saying he has something for me to run him with... a TL or something. I'll give him a call later, but even the people that worked there said I could give this guy a tennis ball and would still beat him. I didn't tell anyone that it probably does mid 12s by now, but I really wanted to for bragging rights, oh well.

When I left I did a nice little burnout that everyone loved right in the parking lot of Pep Boys.

We will see who will win this weekend. Marauder Vs. Pep Boys!

The only problem I see is how someone knows what I have and might not even want to race at all, it could be a set up to steal my car and possibly do harm to me. So if I actually decide to go, I'll be sure to bring a few big buddys with me.

I hade a few problems with pep boy's in the past
at one point I needed rotors for the marauder,
just wasent sure, thay took it for a spin and said,
it was fine I went with them for the second test run
and I pointed out why I tought it was the rotors,
and then thay said oh yeah your right lol I jumped
in the marauder and ran for my life, but I do have
to admit ther tiers are darn cheap, hay can you

The one that was around here closed up shop around 5 years ago I think? I loved that place... it was the farthest from my house but I always went there for parts and stuff... They had the better stuff

OK, Dom, here are two things I find wrong with your post.

A. You took a blown Marauder to Pep Boys. WTF????? That's like bringing your Mellotron to Emmett's Fix-It Shop in Mayberry. For God's sake, man... :shake:

B. Your statement:
The only problem I see is how someone knows what I have and might not even want to race at all, it could be a set up to steal my car and possibly do harm to me. That sounds eerily similar to something that JUST happened to you. Remember the old saying: "Fool me once..."

This is why I still favor the MM over an E39 M5. Its classy without looking like a snob. :)

I would've had a canary with them even opening the hood without asking when you were just there for a tire concern. :mad2:

What you have under the hood is NOT their business !!

I agree which is why I went over there.

Bob I needed a tire changed off one rim and on to the other, I don't have the machine or strength... maybe next time I will go to Just Tires, but I had no interest in buying anything, just the service which is why I went there. Most places I know won't work on your car unless you are buying something.
