Anyway, I am not big on street racing my rauder since its like a fat kid in track.
I was driving down to the Cape on Saturday and my brother was following me in his modified WRX. I had just got my exhaust patched up, gasket issues, and decided to excerise them a little bit.
Now I do not usually street race but if its my brother I just cant help it - been doing it ever since we had matching WRX's. We line up at 60mph and hit it.
He drop shifts into second and his car screams, I must be in third maybe? The rauder defintely downshifted as well and we are neck even for about...2 seconds? He shifts into 3rd and roars past and starts the walk. :bigcry:
He gets to about 120ish and slows down - I was about 3 car lengths back at WOT and blew by and then slowed down.
Expecting that I line up again this time with a slight lead. I hit it and then he lets me go and the he slams it. He didnt catch me until about 122mph and then started walking.
I was happy because I wasnt killed by his car - he usually just pulls on people from the start, or lets them blow by him and he catches them and walks them.
So...what can I do to stretch this fat kids legs? :) I dont car about 0 to 60 or 1/4 times..
Road was empty so people not a factor...deer maybe.

Eric what do you have for mods? A nice 100 shot would even the playing field.

Mods are in the sig
Kooks and full exhaust with a tune. Honestly I am not sure what else to run that would add to highway runs - I am going with cooling so I dont cook anything.
I was think a cold air but I am not a fan of those. Everyone on here is blown so I was thinking of going with head and cams and stay NA just to be THAT dude...

Yea naturally there is no cap on the car since the tune. I only do this once a year - onto the family cookout out on the Cape, he races considerably more on the street then I. I am usually crusing at 65mph watchin a dvd :)

An intake spacer would give you some top end.

What does he have on his WRX? That's kind of sad to hear though. I take my friends very heavily modded WRX like he's nothing. Heads and Cams? Good luck at throwing away $3k for an extra 80hp. You have a modular Ford motor, not an LT1/LSx motor.

His WRX:
STI turbo running 18.5lbs firm to 6.6krpm
STI Injectors 550cc
STI Intercooler
STP Intake system
SPEC Clutch
BFGoodwhrich tires
Tein Type S suspension
He has all of this, ECU and Suspension, tuned by Franz from KTR Motorsport. Franz is one of the tuners for Subaru North America Rally team and travels the country tuning the team cars. He was based out of Ayer Mass in KTR performance shop and my bro is was VERY lucky to have his car tuned by one of the greats.
He also has a 450lb sound system in the car - full MDF floor and wall 2 12in JL subs and amps. The suspension had to be heavily tuned for that. The car is on rails around corners and runs 13.1 at the track on those tires and with 450lbs extra in the car plus a crap driver doing 2.2 60 foots!!
Edit: It puts down 254whp and 266wtq

Supercharger would pretty much guarantee you'll beat him by a large margin.
You could spend thousands in doing ported heads and big cams or what have you and have 50-80 more horses and all that he has to do is a simple adjustment to his turbo and your work is wasted.
Save your money and install a supercharger and and call it a day. You'll gain at least 150-175 hp to the tires.

Yeah...I guess I will just beat him in comfortable ride factor. His seat suck!
Honestly if I am going to drop 8k into a car its going to be the LT1 WS6. Hm....32v heads for the LT1. Its 8k and adds 150whp on the wheels with the stock 350, make that a 383 and we talking!
Thats my goal....first step...getting it to turn over!

Eric sell everything and buy a TT supra like you know you want and destroy anything you want

I WISH!
I would do the single turbo and laugh at m5's on the highway and then eat bikes for dinner!
I have seen a Camaro with a t88 single turbo setup and that thing SCREAMS on the highway but its not safe no traction.
Thats my only hold up with the LT1 the rear end is glass and my best fix is a FORD 9inch which is about 2k to fab up to fit!

I do love the Marauder for long trips. But if I am going down the coastal side nothing beats the T Top WS6!
Once I get the cooling squared with the Rauder the Bird is next...and then I will be like 30 and it will be time to get serious! And gas will be 6 bucks a gallon! lol

4th gens are so damn tiny inside!!!!! I have a 3rd gen and its still a cramped car. The 4th has an even more raked windshield, which makes me claustrophobic. And you don't want to be a front seat passenger in a 3rd or 4th gen with that friekin cat hump.
Eric-Blk2004

I hate the front seat in a bird! I hate that bump too and for a fat dude it is not comfortable at all.
I am thinking of going to a Mach1 or a cobra convert if I get the money together and drop the bird in a press.
I like to have all the same brand - I am NUTS like that. Ford goes with Ford and GM with GM. But the impala SS is retarded...

I once heard that body style caprice/impala called "a half-full vacuum cleaner bag", which I think is very appropriate. Then again I think a 1994 Camaro (and the other early 4th gens like it) looks like a dust buster.

Dude,
CAI and a spacer will let her breathe better when she needs to up top.
Other than that, get a blower and bye-bye-bro for probly less than he has in his mods....
Keep your 3.55's if you're a highway runner.
Last but not least, if this is normal for you, that cooler is exactly what you need!!!

My dad has an LS1 Camaro SS, it's a nice car and is quick but it feels sluggish compared to my Trilogy MM.

I hate F-body anything's, period. My friend's Z28 rides like ASS, my friend's WS6 also rides terrible, every bump you go over you feel like the whole car is going to fall out from under you. There's a kid in my town with a T-88 Supra, 750+rwhp....

His car was dirt cheap to mod since when he got it done a lot of STi owners were fools and dumped all their stock parts of JDM ones. Only to find out the JDM turbos were inferior and smaller to the ones made in the USA. Fund fact the STi is bulit in America and is actually faster then the JDM one for years 04 to 05! Go USA?
He spent 4k total on tune and parts we did the install ourselves since it was so easy to work on the tiny motor. So 8k plus instal and tune is hard for me to swallow in this case if we are going dollar for dollar...
Plus 8k to run 13.3x to 13.7x is rediculous in my book...I havent seen many faster SC rauders and the ones that are faster dont have the mods listed aside from Trilogy. I am not sure how one SC can run a 13.4 and then another 12.8 same tires etc etc.

Who said you have to get an $8k Trilogy? I spent $3900 for my kit, it's making 445hp to the wheels, and it feels like a mid 12 car.

My 4.6 2V with the same M90 Eaton in the same car through stock manifolds, 3.73's on drag radials with just as fat of a "fat guy" driving went 12.87 @ 104. It is possible. Your car with the sweet ass Kooks system and being a 4V shouldn't have a problem running just as fast with the stock gearing. If only someone made longtubes for my motor/chassis (Kooks makes them for the 03+ panther 2V cars, says the frame rails on my car are too narrow  ) I would get more serious on heads and cams, but it's fun for now!
You should definitely go S/C, you'll love it

Those are good times for these cars but what kills it for me are the drag radials. Drag radials smack off .3 to .5 seconds in time - I could be wrong though. I know they are a HUGE difference in times over any street tire.
I would only want to run street tires since I do not like "well if I had my drag radials on...."

With your amount of power it should be mid 12s at most, if you know what I mean. ;)

His car just got adjusted for his new SPT CAI and SPT Exhaust system - puts down 270whp and 272wtq.
It feels like a beast more so now then ever. Should be in the high to high mid 12s. I would give it 12.7 to 12.9.
I guess a blower would be in need to beat him - and not by much it seems.

I don't know - mine pulls hard and fast all the way to the end of the speedo and the pedal isn't to the floor.
The best dyno pull I had was 270 hp w/mods in the sig.
