I tanked up last night at a strange shell station in Ft. Lauderdale.....

I have a strange habit of smelling the fuel after filling up.....

This time it smelled like regular....My wifes car takes regular!

This morning on the way to work it felt funny slowing down to a light, it was running not rough but wierd... so I slid it into neutral at the light and limped the rest of the way to work....can you say idle.

to help off set this condition I am going to get some race fuel or at least some real hightest.

good thing I wasn't getting into the pedal, probably would have broken it.

well, there is a storm coming and I needed some regular, just not in my Marauder!

Sorry to hear that. If I were you I'd put the race fuel in to play it safe. Last thing we need is another blown motor.

ooops missed your mods Well actually
If you stay out of a WOT condition and avoid nitrous the car will run just fine on regular the computer will adapt. IF you are running a stock tune.
Did the same thing on a trip 42k miles ago and no ill affects.
of course I had around a third of a tank of 93 already in there.
OOOPS missed your sig with mods At first nevermind

For piece of mind I'd stop and get some octane booster, or RXP for the fuel that's left and then put in some Good Primium.

And yeah, and we don't need another engine install on deck.

Oh, and back to keeping a 5 gal can of race fuel around...........?

I find that even at my gas station where the guys know me, I have to watch closely to make sure they push the 93 octane button. At 6:30 AM , my usual time, they are probably half asleep and are so used to every one asking for regular. I've caught them starting to put it in my car a half dozen times. But my screams of horror quickly bring them to their senses.;)

I like that....I can see them jumping out of their skin in response.

And They don't let you pump your own in Jersey...
so if you order correctly it'd be on them, as long as they can understand english, that is.

You're right ,Rich. We can't pump our own gas in NJ but I hate getting out of my nice, warm/cool car to get all dirty and smelly especially first thing in the morning.LOL! These guys speak Arabic as a first language but they understand " Noooooooooooooo! I said Superrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!" screamed at high pitch. Then they smile sheepishly. By then, we're all awake.;)

Phew...

Fortunately for me I have a 4-position flip chip.
One bank is programmed for 87...just in case something wierd were to happen while abroad.

Greg, try some NOS brand booster - supposed to be strongest available retail. Some real race fuel would be best, tho.

Hit the highway, set cruise control 5 mph under the speed the rest of traffic is doing and stay out of boost until the tank is empty.

Hi all,

When Hurricane Dennis blew through here I had my Marauder filled with premium before it hit. I ended up having to put two tanks of regular in it before premium fuel was available in this area. During that time my driving was light and easy and I saw no problems. Of course, my Marauder has no mods. Your mileage may vary.

I have been taking it very easy, even with the 10 buck octane booster and a half tank of BP.

I still want a few gallons of race fuel to even it all out.

but I took it up to 5K rpm and all was fine under a load

1. Siphon regular out of Marauder into other car.
2. Use other car and go buy 5 gals of premium in a can.
3. Siphon regular out of Marauder into other car again.
4. Put 5 gals of premium into Marauder.
5. Drive Marauder carefully to station and fill with premium.

Its the 10% ethanol that we now have in FL.

I'm going to invest in a 5 gallon drum of race fuel...to be safe in the future.

OK, none of what Ive read so far has helped me. So I hope someone out there can help me. This past Mon, 9/20, my MM had its 2nd encounter with an unwanted fuel. This time its not so severe seeming, but almost 1/2 the tank was used b4 the problems showed up. My engine problems are exactly the same as what was originally posted on this thread, but I don't know what I should do? The company that made the mistake is willing to take care of any damages incurred but I feel like asking that they replace the engine because who knows what damage has been incurred because the first time this happened it was disel and now it had 83 octane ran through it. For those who know what to do my mods are DR Tune, K&N CAI, high flow cats, & Flowmaster 40s. Thank you all.

83 octane?????? Are you sure?

Im 100% because the gas station & thier home office both told me it was the only one in the ground which is the reason why the company is willing to pay for any damages. Why do you ask?
