I'm thinking about going to see the Marauder in Alsip. What can you guys tell me about it? Why is the price so low? I know it's been in an accident and all...but is that enough to bring the price down so low?

If the airbags have been deployed, does that mean the car's done?

OK - I know Alsip is in IL, just outside Chicago.... but what is "low"? You need to provide more details. Run a CarFax on it so you have the details. Airbags can be replaced but look over it with a fine tooth comb. You can also send a private message to "RoylPita" here and he can run an OASIS on it. Good luck and :welcome1:

Where in Alsip is the car? I live 5 minutes from Alsip. I can try to take a look at it for you if you're far away.

The car is at Luxury Auto Exchange located at 4737 W. 120th, in Alsip, IL, its been for sale all summer long and asking price before was $19,999 2003 with 13k miles now asking $16,880, IMO its way to much for a wrecked car.

I would hate to spend that much on a car that has been wrecked. I know the miles are low but depreciation from it being wrecked does not seem to be figured in price even at the $16k and some change. I would definately run the car fax to see if you can find out how bad the damage was and what it cost to fix. Go to kbb.com (value of fair condtion is $9520 and high retail is $11,400)and nada.com(trade in is16,000 and high retail is $18,375) .These are cars are base on not being wrecked. Kbb is what most dealers use. Would hate to see you buy a problem for later on.:bigcry: I would look on ebay or autotrader. I think you can find a better deal. But after saying all that it depends on what it is worth to you. Good Luck!!!!:burnout:

thank you all so much for responding...the car is at luxury auto exchange..i ran a carfax report on it and it says rear-end damage but the airbags have been deployed...it doesn't say much else..the mileage is 13000 and the asking price is 16800...it is a 2003...

if according to kbb.com, the value of a 2003 is 11,400, then they're asking for way too much and i wouldn't even consider it...that's crazy!

I'll try and swing by there next tuesday. I'd do it earlier but I'm busy this weekend and work all day Monday. It's only 5 minutes from my house anyway.

Salvage title makes it worth half of it would be otherwise.
