Well all,
My wife was out with the MM today, while i was home busting tiles out of a bathroom. (might get permition to do some mods if i fix up the house first) (Yes, I am whipped) And she got the attintion of a County cop. It wasn't a fast driving award, but a "OOOHHH is that the new Mercury Marauder???" type. He is the second Cop I have made jelouse. He drivers a Grand Marque with the PI package, (though i never heard of it offered in the GM) and he likes the Maruader MUCH better. Well, thats two!!:D

I don't know about the last several year models, but yes you could get the PI Package in the Grand Marquis. I had a 91,93, and 95 all where Police Interceptor packaged........Also loaded, leather, top of line stereo and tow package. I was always under the impression, these cars where made for top goverment people and police big shots.

I currently own a '92 GM w/ P & H package manufactured in Apr 91 that has an unrestricted module. I have driven this car at over 130 mph ( radar clocked) and the police said they reached 150. It has a non-electronic transmission, a turning radius that allows me to do a 180 on a residential street, heavy duty rear suspension, heavy duty shocks, over-sized traction and sway bars, engine driven fan, stainless dual ehausts. Neither my '95 CV or my '99 GM (both with P&H packages) will hold a candle to this car---if you look at the delivery date, you can check and the first "Police Interceptors" and 41G performance options were not delivered for another 10-12 months. My car also has a passenger air bag. I was told it was one of 5 prototypes being releasd to private buyers---if anyone can confirm or deny this, let me know. It now has 189,000 miles on it and is going strong.
