Good news, Made it to my first destination alive.

Bad news. Car has a few issues that were not disclosed I'm pretty pissed about. One of them being a Blue and Black pinstripe along the car thats PAINTED ON thats just small enough you don't see in any of the pictures. After I'd asked SEVERAL times if any of the factory paint was touched or modified in any way.

I like the car but damn. Its gona need new fronts as soon as I get it home and an alignment BEFORE I leave on the road tomorrow, the outsides of the BFG's are SHOT, so much for "new tires" they are also cracked from age.

I can make this car what I want it to be but damn it. I have to fix **** that I was told was fine. I have NO CLUE how to get that pinstripe off!! I'm pissed cause this guy has a dealer # too.

I've been up for 20 hours, i'm heading to bed. I'll post some pics tomorrow night after I get done with the dealer.

depending on the type of paint used for the pin striping Im pretty sure we can remove it in my garage in just a few hours...

I'll be more excited than a pedifile at an n'sync concert if we can get these stripes off the damn car. I didn' sleep worth a damn just thinking about how much I hate them. hahahaha

I sent the guy an e-mail but I think he'll just tell me to go to hell. I'm definatly going to file a complaint with texas against his dealer lisence.

We got up early today so we can head over and get an alighnment. We're calling the only 2 shops in town in a few minutes then hitting the road. I got carfixer's specs so hopefully we'll be OK. The outsides are wearin BAD.

You'll have her the way you want it soon enough, consider it personalizing and getting to spend time on it. As for the stripes i'm sure they will machine buff off or at worst a little wet sanding, at least its silver so it hides alot. Deponding on how well its been takin care of you will probably want to buff the hole car anyway. Good luck you'll love it when its (your's). Bob

Congrats - The issues you discribed should be fairly easy to correct.

Wow, sorry to hear about the paint issue. That is a hot button for you :(

Any chance you can negotiate $500 of the price to cover your cost to de-mod it?

Safe travels home!

Alright this issue I ran into today goes above whinning about cosmetic and paint lies....more things went wrong.

The son of a jackass tells me the tires are brand new. ALL of them. Twice on the phone. FAR from the truth.

We damn near woulda died if I wouldn't of decided to take the car to get an alignment to fix the "pull" it had. Wait till you see these pictures. I'm so furious he sent me cross country with tires that were down to the cords and splitting apart.:mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2: :mad2:

Then. After finding out there is 1 tire in the entire city that matches the factory size they (tire gods I'm dubing them) find some 245/45/18's, .5" shorter. They are ripkin street tires. So I'll need to get them changed before snow but the car drives fine and the ABS dosn't kick on.

Oh gets better......

I give the car some pedal going up a hill and all of a sudden the AC is coming out of the floor. I let off. It goes back to the vents. I have some sort of twisted vacuum leak or HVAC unit problem. I reached up and double checked the connector on the passanger side and everything looked OK, none of the lines are kinked. I'm furious.... so now depending on the location of the gas pedal is where my air comes out.

Luckly I planned on an oh crap in my travel plans so we arrived to our hotel safe and on time at 9pm. Tomorrow is our last day 440 miles to home.

I got pissed and went to an autozone and picked up some scratch X and quick detail to fix the scotchbrite pad mark in the fender. I had to fix SOMETHING. It worked thank god. I posted a picture and its hard to see but trust me it was bad.

I have learned something from this trip. I will never trust another mans word. EVER...EVER... I'm going to call him when I get home with the details, pictures, and bill for the tires and see what happens.

If you look close on the picture of the inside sidwall where you can see the wheel you can see where the tire was starting to split and seperate.

Sidewall that the tire was seperating...

Monday is my b-day and I'm taking it off. I'm going to completely detail the car and hopefully I'll feel a little better. I'm just so mad I was lied to about something that could of killed me. I tried to check this when we got the car but he parked at his house on a damn dirt road and it was raining like crazy. I feel like I got stiff armed...Ugh..

I need some pointers here. He sent me off with a car he knew was unsafe. After he lied to me and said the tires were new. I could tell they wern't new by the cracking but figured the center tread being as deep as it was they were pretty new. I'm just confused. I can't believe someone would screw over another human like this. I wouldn't do this to someone I hated.

Repeat after me....... It's only a car, It's only a car!!!!

It is not worth your health to get this wrapped up about these issues. Every one knows that the way you tell if a politician or a car salesman is lying is that their lips move.
I had the similar issue when I bought my MM and picked it up. The pictures of the car showed one tire as representative of all 4. It was a front and looked new. It was raining cats and dogs when I picked it up and everything looked OK. I checked the car over the next day and found the famous MM worn in the center rear tires. I called the guy up and asked what he was going to do about the misrepresentation. He said the tires were the same ones on the car when I picked it up. I went up thru the chain of command at the dealership but got no satisfaction. It is not worth the <!--StartFragment -->aggravation!

I'll be sure to look things over better next time even if it means getting wet and dirty. Best of luck with your new ride. Rick

So far here's the list of to-do's to the "showroom original condition"

Pinstripe removal attempt, taking it to the body shop as soon as I got time.

New radio/cluster surround (100$ from the dealer)

The internals of the compass are broke. If you push the lamp buttons the inners lift into the cover.

Spent $350 on tires that are the wrong size and type. So I need to change AGAIN.

Extreme mequires detail on her including a 4 stage #9, gold class, NXT, quick detailer.

New HVAC control unit.

New silver/carbon center piece (2 large scratches and unknown cost)

Made it in one piece with 2 new tires, some Roswell alien pictures and a ticket from Texas's finest for 87 in an 80.

Wow those tires are bad! I went thru the same experience "about the alignment" My tires were worn so bad the belt was coming out in spots. They were actually the original tires from 2004 lol.

The pin stripe will come off, it was painted on over the stock paint im sure. Its not unpossible to take it off

Good luck :)

I'm glad you finally made it home and safe too... I think your car's name should be Drama Queen, you went through a lot these past several miles. You and your new baby will be fine in the end. So don't worry too much. For the dealer... what goes around, comes around.

News flash!!!! Dealers Lie, who knew? A learning lesson, perhaps. A lot of really nice, well loved Marauders have been posted here and on another site for sale by brother members. Why you would try to save a few bucks buying an unseen, unknown and doubtlessly lied about Marauder from a distant dealer is a mystery to me. Good luck with your new Marauder. Dennis

While I'd be pissed about all that, as well, I've got to say that your car looks great. A little TLC and fix a few things and it'll be perfect.

Even with a few problems I think you still got a good deal.

Oh, he's young AND Picky, that makes for a great Marauder owner. Congrats on the purchase. Give it time, you'll make it right, with the help from many members here.

Don't feel too bad, the first Marauder I looked at got a friend and I thrown off a used car lot. He advertised it for 24k, and listed it for 21k online, and got upset when we started bargaining at 18.5K, why, because of the TIRES or lack of. "What's up DUKE, Holla." :D

I dont think he knew it was a dealer till he saw the paperwork.....

If you had time to meet up I could have repaird your EATC the same day ( but you prolly didnt know that it was acting up till you were already on the road )and I even had a couple of used oem tires I could have let you have for the trip...

I wish we would of had the time...

The HVAC went nuts about 500 miles into the trip. For some reason its working fine now. I've got an o-ring kit now to work on it when it happens again.

I got some new tires 2,4shofast (Jason) is great guy. He brought over brand new BFG fronts. I'm gona sell the new tires on there now and give him what I can get out of them. Drove his baby too. I can't WAIT to get the 4.10's in!!!

I spent some quality time with her today and waxed/detailed her. I'm still only 1/2 done (gawd its a big car i coulda done 2 mustangs by now) when I finish I'll post some pictures. The paint on this car I will admit is damn near perfect, its taking the wax great and smooth as hell.
