This was posted by a guy on edmunds.com who works at the Marauder factory.
Most of the info seems correct, with some new stuff I haven't heard yet.

#2220 of 2221 Marauder-Update! by lotboy Sep 03, 2003 (9:04 pm)
Okay guys I found out some info for you all today!

-The Blue colour was discontinued July 2003,so no more blue, just silver, maroon and black for the Marauder.

-Moonroofs will be offered in the Marauder in December 2003.They will be sent outside of the factory for this process, the same place the Town Car gets moonroofs installed,,,a company called "Crown".

-2004 model year will be the last for the Marauder. So,if you can find one with a moonroof or blue coloured, you've got yourself an exclusive machine.

-We have produced 5000 Marauders thus far since launch May of 2002.Since shut down in July 2003 we have only produced about 300 thus far in all 3 colour choices.I am seeing a lot of silver ones coming off of line 8.

OTHER INFO:

-For the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis,we had our very first car built today that is going to have a moonroof installed. It was maroon and is a 2004 and a half model. We will be producing 11 of these between now and Sept.26 to go and have moonroofs installed.About time eh???

-Police Interceptor may at some point have the Marauder power plant attached to it.Some states have expressed an interest in more power etc..
The regular Police unit produces 239hp at this time, the same as the Crown Vic Sport package and the Grand Marquis LSE.The regular models of each produce 224hp.Just thought I'd mention that for anyone interested.I must say one thing, the Police Interceptors have a different geared differential that make the car rip!!!

-Russia is going to be ordering some units off of us as well as either Japan or China....

-The 2005 model will have upgraded wiring,108 metres less wire in the vehicle,WOW!

Cheers everyone,I hope I didn't write too much.I am just enthusiastic about the car I help make

Knew everything there except the moonroof information.

Hmmm, 108m less wiring, sounds like some kind of communications buss might be introduced into the car.

The factory is sending the vehicle to a vendor. So I guess it is still after market. IMHO.

Sorry to hear that 2004 will be the last year. I was hopeing somewhere along the line the MM would recieve the Cobra powerplant or a varation of it.

He's off on the HP of the SOHC engine in the CVPI for 2004.
The 2004s get the Marauder airbox and some tuning to increase the HP by about 7 hp. torgue increases as well.

I thought we already knew that at with the production figures sheet posted here, the Marauder production had been 5500. I'd think by production end it would be higher than his stated 5000

When Trilogy had their open house the engineer that developed the MM was there. He said that the 2004 had a transmission upgrade that would help off the line punch and make second hit harder. Also he said that 2004 would be the last model until it is reintruduced as a 2006 model. I asked if it was going to be what it should have been this time, all he did was smile and said I can't say. I know that Ford had been working with Trilogy so maybe in 2006 I will own two MMs. One 2003 and one 2006.

I thought the redesigned Panther-platform cars (CV/GM/MM) were to be '07 model year introductions (for sale in late '06)?

Although the factory will send out the MM for the moonroof, they might manufacture an OEM overhead panel.

It will be interesting to see.

I suspect they will be moving many devices onto the "CAN" (control area network).

This is happening on the 04 Taurus/Sable, F150, Explorer, and some Foci (with the PZEV engine).

There may be more, but these I have actually laid hands on and tested.

Saw a Silver Birch 2004 model on a dealer's lot Sunday.

Has anybody noticed that the Silver Birch Marauders say just that: "Silver Birch" on the window sticker, while the Lincolns say "Silver Birch Clearcoat Metallic" on the window sticker?

The Marauder and Lincolns were not side by side, so no real true comparison; however, after walking back/forth, the Lincoln paint job/color looked better.

Imagination? I don't think so.

I'd check the paint codes between the two cars, they should be the same.

Smokie and everyone else,
From the info you posted it appears that Ford has improved the warranty to include a 60 month/100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. Is this correct and does anyone know if they have retroactively improved our 2003 MM's warranty?
