Dreaded Blinking Headlights Syndrome

Headlights started flashing on and off today, tried switching from Auto to Manual Off, but no luck.

Tried the search function, but didn't come up with anything that discussed a diagnostic to check it out.

Anybody got suggestions, or do I just have to bite the bullet and buy a new LCM?

I had a similar problem back in April-May 2008. It may not be related to the LCM at all. All diagnostics run by the Ford dealer pointed to the windshield wiper motor. Seems to be related to the wiper-autolights function. Lights would come on and go off whenever it "thought" the wipers were activated or deactivated. Wiper motor and pigtail was replaced and the problem went away -- so far it has been 3 months without reoccurrence.
