Picked up 8 accel coils #140034 1997-04 stang. works well in MM. Jeggs has them for 32.00 plus handling . theres a $10 rebate per coil, but after speaking with them if you buy 8 at once it's only $10. need to buy 8 individually for a $80 rebate go figure...
the price of shipping 8 individually proberly doesn't warrent the hassel.
any way I just really wanted to let yu know that thay work fine and there is an inprovement. maybe its the bobbin tech13261
:concur:
Or maybe it's because there new:dunno:

The factory ignition system has powered 1000hp cars into the 9s.
I don't think I'll be messing with it.

Running the Summit coils on mine with the GMS connectors. Good results so far and I'm happy with them, though I do agree that it's absolutely not necessary.

A difference I could prove or quantify? No. But it seemed like my idle smoothed out a bit after putting them in. Is it all in my head or a real change? Can't say for sure, but it feels smoother. worth the money? Probably not, but I don't regret the purchase.

Sorry man, it's been a long day and my brain is sort of fried... de connector? You mean the original equipment connectors? If so, I'm not sure because they're a coil spring and they stretch a bit when you pull them out. It felt like the GMS solid connectors were a hair longer, though, because the coil covers felt like they were touching the tops of the coils more than they did with the stock parts. Did not cause any problems, though.

Any improvement you get from aftermarket COPs or connectors is because they're
clean and new. No one has yet posted up any back-to-back comparisons between
new Motorcraft parts vs new aftermarket. And I suspect no one ever will...

Probably because it's not worth buying two new sets, one aftermarket and one OEM, just to do a comparison for the forum.
