I know not a great kill but a fun one!! From a dead stop to about 68 M.P.H. he had no chance! Had him by 2-1/2 lengths and I let off. We were coming up on a known speed trap. Wish I would have stayed on it because no cops around, but wanted to stay safe as well. Good times-Good times!

Nice. And it looks like you're near stock as well! Cool.

lol, R/T Dak's are probably one of thes slowest things out there. Good kill though. Probably felt like a douche since he has a big old 5.9 and you're sporting a tiny 4.6.

LOL.... He didn't look happy about getting beat by a 4 door! He actually looked like a douche, so I'm sure he felt like one!!

Actually, 5.9 R/T Dakotas aren't that slow. My 65 yr old man has one and has spanked Camaros and Corvettes with it and his only mods are a tuned chip and a K&N intake.

What's great is when he'll beat some kid's Camaro and then he'll pop out his teeth and smile and wave at them.

Good kill:)

Stock the Dakota 5.9 R/T isn't all that quick. Mid to high 15s for club cab models (although quite a few have hit low 15s) and mostly low 15s to even high 14s on regular cab models. From a dig they're torque monsters, but don't do as well at the top end.

They respond well to bolt on mods. There are a lot of 'em out there running 13s and some even 12s with only bolt ons.

I have a stock 2002 club cab Dakota R/T and I love it.

I ran against my father-in-law's 2003 Marauder last year. Although I pulled away from him out of the hole, he caught up with me at the 1/8 mile mark and slowly pulled away the rest of the way. He ended up running a 15.2 against my 15.6. Both of us had traction issues (my reaction time and 60ft sucked compared to his, ha ha), but if we didn't, I imagine he would probably have ran a high 14 and me possibly a low 15.

I've driven his Marauder several times, and indeed it's a blast to drive, although I like to drive my R/T better ;). According to my butt dyno, my R/T throws my head back more from a dig than his Marauder, but his car definitely pulls harder on the passing gear.

Great site!!

Yeah, right...............pa-in-law. I told ya you were scared at first when I jumped away from you, then breathed a big sigh of relief at the end.
