View Full Version : Oil change NOVI S/C's
Hi Ho all;
:type:
This is to remind NOVI users not to forget to change the fluid in your head unit every 7.5K miles.
Time and miles go by fast for some, this is my second fluid change since April. The intital change at 2.5 K and the next change 7 K after that.
Fluid can be purchased at Paxton's web site. Must call tech line to order as the fluid in not listed seperately. Cost about $36.00 + shipping for a three 4 oz bottle set. They don't sell it by the individual bottle.
Happy hunting,
:burn:
They recommend changing the oil every 5000 miles.

My Vortech slip says 7k.

I've been wondering about that. Should I got with the recommended oil change interval on my self-lubed Vortech V3, or should I go with a slightly more aggressive schedule. Say, every 4K or 5K?
Thoughts?
The condition of the my old fluid indicated a more aggressive schedule may be warranted. I'm going to 5K and observe and adjust from there.

Was this based on an oil analysis done by a lab, or just the look of the oil when you drained it?
4thHorseman;
The oil was dark and a little contaminated with tiny bits of material, it did not look or feel like metal. May be some kind of gasket rub off. S/C sounds like it always has and boost comes on as usual. The amount of fluid drained nearly equaled four ounces, so there wasn't much, if any, consumption.

Good to hear. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll change mine more frequently than recommended as well.
