I did about 143 in my '92 GMLS (equipped with the cop car engine, PCM, & Handling and performance package w/Flowmasters) while chasing a demo MM with a Reinhart chip!!!!! The gent in the MM stated he did 145. My electronic dash only shows up to 120.

Not sure (Funny story). I built a '68 Cougar while I was in the Navy. I was in SoCal, Alan Roots had built the engine, and I'd just come from Currie Enterprises with a new rear end. Yes, I dropped in on their warehouse, and left with new gears ;) I was headed to back towards San Bernadino, and this dumb arsed Mustang kept trying to pass me. I'd tag in 'till 140 (speedo pegged) and the Mustang would vanish. I hit the exit after awhile, when the Mustang, sporting BIG black letters stating "CHiP" rolled alongside. The Officer (thank you very much sir, whoever, where ever you are) shook his finger at me and mouthed something like "Do Not Ever Do That Again". Maybe he liked the car, maybe it was the Hawaii plates or my SSN695 stickers, I don't know, but my guess is that I hit something like 150. I MISS that car ;)
Ahhh, to be 19 and stupid again....

Somewhere around the low 170s in a race prepped Mazda Cosmo sporting quad 60mm twin-choke carbs on a magnacharger s/c and too many Racing Beat components to list. Clip from front doors forward was tilt-up fiberglass unit. Fairly sick unit, that car. Just as well I got rid of it before I killed myself in it. A 2800 pound car with 380+ h/p, 5 speed manual with o/d and a roll-cage is an invitation to wreak havoc.

The full size picture is in the gallery. It's not quite as impressive after you convert from km/hr. I was driving a Mercedes diesel on the autobahn North of Hamburg, Germany. The pedal was floored & it was max'd out. Felt fairly stable though. I was still getting passed pretty quickly by some Audi's & BMW's.

In High School, a bunch of us crazy(!) bicycle enthusiasts built "downhill racer" bikes with no crank, pedals, seat or chain. Just pegs on the rear axle for your feet, welded-on grips on the fork, and a piece of padded plywood along the top tube to lay on. Oh, and BIG drum brakes on the front wheel and a normal drum brake on the rear wheel.

One of us psycho- uh, I mean talented bike/rocket pilots would catch a pickup ride to the top of the famous Black Mountain Road (in an undisclosed California town) and proceed to literally fly down this steep road powered only by gravity.

I had a modified motorcycle speedo on my bike that was checked by being pulled by a moving car while shouting out speed indications on the car's speedo.

After a particulalry frightening run down the hill, I noticed the needle sitting one tick above 80 and hit the brakes- hoping to slow down enough to avoid certain death by impact with a tree or hillside. I'm not sure I ever went that fast again...

By comparison, driving a car at 125 is boring.

165 MPH in my 65 396/425 HP Corvette. about 2 AM going South on the Jersey turnpike in 65. Amazing what old tire technology would let you get away with. That was with 3:73 rear gears @ 7200 RPM. Porshe Club of America had a rally at Road America (?) in Wisconsin, I was in high school in charge of checking wheel lug torque at the safety inspection. Some guy took me out in a slope nose 930 Turbo around the track a few time and I thought I was goona die, said we hit 160 a few times.

With a 14month old so there is no chance of anything close to that happening again, maybe 100 in the MM

I've took my 99 V8 Taurus SHO upto 138mph and it had lots of pull left in it

01 SVT Cobra upto 135mph before chickening out
02 SVT Lightning to 135mph before chickening out
02 Honda S2000 to 152mph, and it was still pulling

So far, i've been upto 110mph in the Marauder about a week ago at 2am on a straight stretch of completely empty highway, but didn't go any faster since I don't want to stress my motor too much since it only had about 1200 miles on it then. This motor sounds really good at WOT.........

My V8 SHO was fun, but IMO, it doesn't hold a candle to the Marauder in terms of potential performance and reliability. BTW, I think I could have possibly gone faster on that 148 mph run, if I didn't have any 250Lb passengers. The Marauder is a full second faster in the quarter mile than my old SHO, stock for stock.

Stock SHO 1/4 mile times: 15.7
Modded SHO 1/4 mile times: 15.1
Stock Marauder 1/4 mile times: 14.7

Stock SHO top speed: 138
Modded SHO top speed: 148
Stock Marauder top speed: 120
Modded Marauder top speed: TBD :D

Well coming back from the Hershey meet, we had the MM up to 125 running with a Camaro. But at the time, I had it floored and it wouldn't go any faster. So a week later, we went back out on a long strech of highway to try again. This time, Gordon had the MM up to 125 again with me following behind in the Firehawk. We had to give because of traffic. The third and final trial, was a lonely back road, where Gordon had our MM up to 140. He was finally happy!! :D

To Answer your question; no I can the difference between a MM and a police car immediately...but I have an interest in the MM and know what I am looking at. I drove the Marauder to work the other day and most of the people that I work with with knew what it was but at least one officer that everyone was looking at a knew unmarked car (the MM). I have found that when I drive on the expressway with the MM that I get the same reaction that I get in a police car. Everyone slows way down and won't get the ____ out of the way. That is annoying at work and at play.
