Been noticing the last couple of weeks, my headlights are not going on when their supposed to. If its dark enough for them to activate, all the lights go on, including interior, except for the headlights. Have to turn switch on and off, all the way from left to right, a few times and they will finally turn on. Bad switch I'm thinking but maybe someone else had this issue with a diffrent result than a bad switch. Thanks.

There have many issues with lights and wipers. Could be a bad switch?

Note: I never use the "auto" function so I had no issues with it.

i'm having a similar issue, it's not all my lights but the headlights (excluding the fog light) cut out when i use my turning signal sometimes, i'm thinking it's either fuses or the switch, i know the switch is like $136 or something like that

Could be the LCM, starting to have issues with my headlights as well. I've quit using the auto-activate position for now, and just operating them manually has helped.

Sure sounds like the Lighting Control Module under the driver side dash is going bad. Mine went out all of a sudden last August with all other lights working excpet the headlights. Got the LCM replaced by dealer under ESP warranty. It's an expensive part.

Alternative to replacing the LCM is to replace the defective relay, that's what I plan to do.

My issue is similar in the auto-mode. The headlights go out while driving, so I turn on the fog lights so I can see, then mess with the turn signal stalk until the headlights come back on.

Not a fuse, went to check fuse, hit unlock button, lights go on. They just work when they want to I guess. Im guessing a switch, and you guest it, I have no warranty. Any Instructions on switch or Lighting Control Module step by step replacment would be great. Thanks Guys.

Easiest way to tell if it is the LCM is when the lights go out, take your hand and slap the dash in the area of the LCM (Right in front-toward the front of the car- the Ddiagnostic Data Link Connector) If your lights come back on, it's the LCM. This is apparently a common problem on 03/04 Panthers. The LCM was redesigned in 05, but the new ones won't fit. The best fix is to install a seperate relay that uses the LCM line voltage to cycle an external relay. The relay can be installed somewhere up by the headlights. You can find the headlight feed wire and cut that and use the LCM side as the relay trigger, and the headlight side as the power to the lights.

I'd be curious to know if the people having problems with the LCM are using headlamp bulbs other than the stock ones. Generally if you have an increase in light output you have a corresponding increase in current. The relay contacts are rated at 30Amps. I ordered a couple of the replacement relays from the Moser electronics link just in case I have future problems. They were cheap enough and will be on hand if necessary. Rick

Hey guys - did you read this? ^^ It tells you how to fix the LCM problem. After you fix the LCM relay, use this http://www.suvlights.com/product_info.php?products_id=1 12 to prevent it from happening again.
