I just read over on Menace's Count down post that MI@QWK4U had there PCM reflashed with the latest updates,as I have had done too.
Is there anyway of knowing that all BDMO's change to CDM0's ?
This could become a real pain when it comes time to chip.

do they only reflash if you go in with a problem or is it like a recall where they will want to do it if you come in for routine maintenance?

when we checked with the dealer, they said that my car was flashed with the "latest and greatest" ford had to offer. Its interesting that we never get the same answer twice. And the new code isnt an issue, mine is rechipped and the blower install is on...

Bugsy, Its my understanding that if you take it in for service, they will do the reflash along with what the car is in for. I checked with 2 guys I work with, both had their Marauders in for service in the last month, each one was reflashed without asking for it.

yeah well i dont want a reflash!! fords latest and greatest isnt going to compare with jerrys latest and greatest if you know what i mean. can you refuse the reflash?

I would imagine you could refuse it. There is no need to. Lidio has the updated software and we chipped mine today and its good to go. Now its time for the blower to go on.

Mine was reflashed for the cold stumble issue.
This could make mail ordering a chip tough.

Cyclone, The best thing to do is go to your dealership and get the version your pcm is running and whatever chip you order would be right.

With our programing and our 4 Bank Chip there probably will not be an issue with a re'flash, the chip will probably still work even with the reflashed EEC, if you are using Super Chip programer then you will lose the program but you may contact them and they may upgrade your programer for a fee or possibly free, any one else's chip I have no idea on the compatibility with a reflashed EEC.

Nathans blue Marauder had a new and different code as well, seems like it is a newer version very close to what mine was reflashed to. I am happy to say my chip worked in his, so no delays on his installation.

Yes and the issues can be fixed with our tuniing never needing the re'flash

Thats what I hear Dennis, anyone with a programmed chip from you or another vendor wont have any problems. Just unfortunate ones like me and a bunch of others that got that reflash had a temporary snag.

Well I cant say any thing about another Vendor I have no idea who that is nor do I care, I am just saying we can fix issues like cold start, or various drivability issues which was a big complaint from Marauder owners, I was the first person in the United States to ever chip a Marauder, if you have bought a chip form me, and have had your EEC flashed and are having snags as you mentioned I will reburn the chip for Free if required, all I ask is you pay the shipping.

FYI:
According to Superchips' customer service, if you have your custom Superchips program loaded into your EEC, and the dealer (or anyone else) overwrites it, you will have to send the tuner back to Superchips along with $200 to pay the reprogramming fee. That's why Superchips advises that you ALWAYS reload the factory program back into your EEC before taking it to the dealer.

Just to clarify, if your EEC was flashed and the dealer reflashes, you tune is gone. You always need to tell the dealer NOT TO FLASH. They will reflash for just about any service problem without letting you know it was done.
As Dennis said his chip will work even after a dealer reflash. If Jerry tuned your car at a dyno day chances are it was flashed, not chipped. If it's an issue and you ask real nicely you may be able to get a chip burned. You may have to pay a small fee, and certainly any shipping charges. If you got the car tuned or chipped via Dennis, call him. I've never seen a shop owner who tries harder to satisfy his customers!!!!

Dennis: Does that mean that I no longer need to stand over the L/M mechanic until he finishes working on my car to insure no one tries to reflash my PCM? I almost tackled a more stubborn mech once when I noticed wires leading to the PCM and his menacing grin. He was most unhappy when I wouldn't let him do the flash, but I thought I was doing the right thing -- now it sounds like there's no problem with the chip you installed my MM if it's reflashed?

If you have a chip and the EEC is flashed the chip will work, but why would any one have the EEC flashed if you are not experiencing any problems I would tell them to take a hike. But make sure the chip is removed before they flash the EEC if you need to have the EEC flashed
