First thoughts when you go behind the wheel of your Marauder for the first time.

What were they?

I was driving down the highway heading home after being without my Marauder because the moron delivery guys backed a truck into it.

Anyway I was amazed at how big the car was, how nice it drove and yet I babied it all the way home. I also was amazed at it's wonderful sound.

Back in 2001 the Bullit Mustang came out and my dad and i drooled over it but could not afford it.......in 2003 the Marauder came out and again we drooled over it but still could not afford it again.....fast forward to 2005 when i graduated and was tired of the "fix the car to get to work and fix the car after work to get back home" routine, so i went car shopping. and wouldnt you know it but the two cars we drooled over most are side by side!!! i drove the mustang and realized that it would get me in too much trouble, then drove the Marauder and i was hooked! autometer guages, counsle shift, dual chrome tips, leather buckets and that sound, that wonderful exhaust note that is just awsome! after is signed the paperwork and she was mine i gave it a little kick in the *** and left my first calling card at the dealership as well as a standing ovation from the salesman . The first person i showed it too was my grandma who has a Grand Marquis and i took her for a ride, i will never forget her comment, "man this Fu&*er sounds good!" Now even the wife who is not much of a car person loves the car and made sure that i promised never to sell or trade it in! so that is my long first thought of the car

"My son is gonna have a fit when I pull in the driveway with this !!"

Explanation: My youngest son (the S.O.B.) had been bugging me for more than a year to go take a test drive and buy one. One Saturday morning in October 2003, the wife suggested that we go look at cars. S.O.B. was working that day and had no idea we were off looking at cars. He was quite surprised when he saw the Marauder ... said he knew I was gonna do it sometime .... but would have liked for me to wait so he could have tagged along. :D

Took a test drive at 10:AM one Saturday in late Aug.(Dealer asked that I be back by 5:30 PM as they closed at 6) Light falling wipers sucks! Big time! Car not feel fast when I found dry road. For almost $$10g's more the grand marquis I though why?

Bought one a month later.

The salesman who was in the car with Patricia and I said "drive it faster", I did, a little, and said to myself, this car needs a tune, 4:10 gears, a higher stall converter, and a supercharger with a dash of nitrous, oh yea, and some louder mufflers.

Now it drives "a little faster".

Hey, my wonderful, magnificent, beautiful, and loving wife bought it for me. I'll never speak ill of my Marauder.

In fact I've thoroughly enjoyed it throughout the modification process.

It was September of 2004, pooring rain when I went to go look at it.

The car was at Acton Lincoln Mercury in Mass. with 6,000 miles. Still

smelled new. The first two things I loved was the sound and power.

I remember how tight the car felt compared to my 1999 Crown Vic.

I took the car right home. Ill never forget that day

We have something in common, Mine said "why don't you quit reading about it on the internet and go buy it?"

I first saw it at the Dallas auto show in 02. Pre-production model. I was absolutely spell bound.
My "toy" at that time was a small block powered 50 Ford, black with chrome wheels. I had owned it for 28 years, personally installed several different engines, transmissions, rear ends and god knows what all. When I saw the Marauder for the first time I thought "here is my Ford, updated by 50+ years".

Read MM.net every night from right after it started around June or so for almost a year.

Bought it in May of 03. Supercharged it in March of 07.

Never looked back.
