Camaro & Marauder rear tires

Seeing as how we will soon share the same tire size W/ the new 2008 Chevrolet Camaro (Feb'09) .
Will it be likely other Manufactures will start producing this size?
Anyone seen specs on the Camaro wheels?

My understanding is that only the V6 5th gen. Camaro will have the 245/55R18 tires. The V6 has a lot of power and was designed for 14's in the 1/4, but I don't know if the tires are going to be what we're looking for. I'm guessing that they'll be higher treadwear, meaning the tires will be less sticky. Speed rating may or may not be comparable; this will effect the sidewall stiffness and handling performance. Also, I'm not sure what the load index will be, but in that tire size and considering how heavy the new Camaro will be, we should be fine.
