View Full Version : Driver's door window alignment

Has anyone had trouble with the driver's door glass being out of alignment? On Phoebe, when raising the window the glass seems to "lag" at the front and the window goes up slowly. If I manually push the glass toward the rear, it moves about an inch and then it speeds up and raises normally. Is there any adjustment for the tracks? I looked in the FSM and all it tells me is how to replace the glass, it doesn't list any kind of adjustments.

How about lubing the track first. Sometimes that can take care of binding that goes on.

Thanks, Brian, but I don't think it's strictly a binding issue...it seems more like the front and rear tracks are too far apart so the glass gets "cocked" (OK, OK, make fun if you must) on the way up and then sticks. Pushing the glass back "upright" fixes it.

The Blackbird has none of this looseness in the glass.

I would pull the door panel off and see if the rivits holding the glass to the regulator are loose or broken. And check the regulator, too.

4 year old post but whatever....

Have we come up with an ultimate solution for this problem?

Got to imagine this has happened to a handful of other people in the time since this post.

Thw wifes DD does this too, figured it was a regulator issue.
Have not checked it out yet.

Seafoam Deep Creep, silicone spray or my favorite JIG-A-LOO.

I used a significant amount of silicone spray with no results.

Took the passenger side door panel off and lubed my track. Not with KY, JIG-A-LOO, or Astroglide, but with silicone spray. Window works much better.

Nope. It's for the trunk, silly! And the glove box.
